Re: Not happy TJM Wheres the wheel alignment i paid for
Lifting suspension creates positive camber, increasing wear on the outside edge of the tyre,it also increases toe in. Positive camber reduces steering effort (makes it feel light/vague) Causes poor turn in and makes the vehicle tend to (Plow) understeer. Excessive toe in will cause steering instability and also skirming under firm/heavy braking as the tyres try to straigten up.
Most IFS vehicles are not particularly sensative to castor settings, higher angles improve straight line stability at speed but also increas steering effort. The critical thing is the settings are matched both sides to prevent the vehicle pulling.

Just to let you know that you won't feel anything through your streering or baking test after a lift kit is put in an IFS suspension. The only thing that really changes is your camber, not caster. The car still drives straight but is wearing the inside edge of the tyres. Look at V8 Super cars, F1 cars, they all run negitive camber but drive and brake straight.
