I would need to see them on to see how much 1inch will change, right now they look well under the guard, even with +15s it had plenty of room left from eyeballing it.
In SA, you are only allowed up to 26mm increase in track width. This means that you can go anywhere between +25 and +12 offset. The FJ rims would have been ideal, but as Rob said, the tyres sticking out of the guards would be more obvious.
Well that's abit fail, it looks like the FJ rims will have to be it. It's abit rubbish that the stock track width of +25 rubs, it makes me think are the 18s actually E25 they only place I have seen that was written here. Can anyone confirm? Why didn't they use e15s like the US.
Waiting on Toyota to make up there mind on what they are going to do about the wheels. They keep telling me the cost on the FJ rims is just too expensive. It's an expensive mistake I don't feel I should have to pay for.
I changed mine from the first day to a Cooper 275/65R18 in the AT3 and they are fantastic. Just got back from the Canning and the Tanami and Oodnadatta and a lot in between without a single puncture or problem. They have done 25,000 so far.
That's the tyre I would like (in LT), even if they're bloody expensive. How do they fit ? Do they rub on full lock ?

I just found another post where he said there was no rubbing or touching anywhere...sounds like a good tyre.

My guess would be no, but I could live with that.
I kinda prefer the naked look anyway
My cover fits with the 285x60 which is a 800mm tyre so not sure.

should have my FJ rims in a couple of weeks will be sure to post pics and updates]
For others after FJ rims, keep an eye on the FJ Cruiser Forum (www.fjcc.com.au) as many people on there have replaced their rims with 16" versions to give a wider variety of tyre choices, or imported rims from the U.S.A, etc.
If you are in WA, I have heard that Richards Tyrepower in Osborne Park has a fair few FJ rims from vehicles available. Not sure on any other info - just one of those 'word of mouth' things.
Not sure if i'm crossing wires, but i thought we couldn't go less than 17's on the 150 because of the brakes. I can't back this up at all. Just a fragment of a memory of reading something on the forums.
