Hey guys just found out that all terrain tyres light truck tyres for VX prados are very limited and expensive.
I've got a couple of questions. I was talking to the local tyre guys and they said that if I were to go down the aftermarket wheel direction I could only go up in size ( I was thinking of going down to a 17 inch wheel that way I would have much more variety in tyre choices and prices would dramatically drop) he was saying in Queensland that's the law, I've read about people on this forum who have used speedy wheels in 17 inch figuration on their VX or Kakadu is the law different in different states or are these vehicles not insureable anymore?
2ndly if I was to stay with the 18 rims (dam 7.5 inch) what size tyres can you run with out clearance issues eg mudflap. Was looking at 275/65/18 but saw photos and not much play in the wheelwel than there is the 265/65/18 same width but a touch higher with a higher load rating to match and bfg do a lt version, this size doesn't seem to be that common though.
I have a bullbar lights duel bat so fronted sags a little and mostly do the weekend off-roading to glasshouse double island etc any help would be great.
