Seriously this is the most pathetic thread I have ever read. Not pathetic by contributors, but pathetic by the level of service we pay for. The members of this forum form an influential group and as such we should shame by name when we have been done wrong and identify those businesses that do well. We should all support those that do the right thing and send the other bastards bankrupt or at least deprive them from the opportunity for ill gotten gains.

Off my soap box now, but still agro we have to go to such lengths.

If you are sceptical , mark your oil, air and fuel filters, chalk correct rotation on the tyres and fill your washer bottle full.
Its a sad fact that a lot of services done on our cars these days are done by slack unskilled workers under pressure to get as many services in a day as possible, the skilled mechanic only steps in for bigger services. Toyota trained .... my bollox ! All the training in the world doesnt make up for laziness .

The Toyota garage i bought my 120 off are absolute champions in every way , ive already had a bad experience with the garage i got my 150 off but went with them as my lease company had them as a preferred dealer... good price , but will go back to my 120 dealer if i have any crap... acutally might approch them for fixed price servicing too.

I have had the same type of poor service, mine was easy the fog light was out for 2 first services, the first one I rang them when I got Home and they said the globe must of blown after leaving them, when I told them it was not working when it went in they said bringbit straight back and they will fix it. I said dont worry about that but please check as per service, same thing happened next service. Now onto 40,000 service tyres not rotated and indicator in bar not working before and after service

They need to get their act together
...If its not on all 4's it's not on.....

Isn't fixed priced servicing independent of the dealer you bought the car from?

I recently had a wheel balance done on my 90, specified not to rotate & when it came back it was hopeless, went back to the tyre shop & they did them again??, still hopless when I approached them again the story was BFG tyres when worn are always like this????
I have never had the problem of out of balance tyres before by keeping them on the same side.
A Cooper's tyre retailer, who has since moved up the ladder in that company, agreed with me when I suggested I rotate the tyres all the way around, because he did the same on his vehicle. When I sold the 80 series with the Coopers, they had travelled 55.000kms, and still had plenty of tread left. No uneven wear, no punctures, rotated every 10,000.

I got the fixed price servicing as part of the deal. $210 for the first 60k or 3 years. So I will use it but as soon as that finishes I will be back with my regular mechanic. I can get my vehicle serviced at any toyota dealer under this arrangement.
Need to mark things and check them before you leave the yard. I had one dealer tell me they replaced the power steering belt on the wifes car. I asked if they fitted power steering at the same time as it did not have it. Another dealer said we checked all external lights however when I asked if they replaced the blown brake globe they we should check. They also asked if I knew that it was not working why didn't I tell them. I pointed to their check sheet and reminded it said check all external lights! We will fix it now and not charge you for that sir.
I suggested they should do the job properly.
Not very happy with over priced lack of service.
                    Regards

I dropped our Prado in to have a few noises looked at. One was the rattle in the steering column and the other sounds like a crook steering rack. The head mechanic took it for a drive and said they would look at it as they had the car for 3 days to do some other work on it.

Came back to pick it up thinking it would be all fixed but the head mechanic who took it for a drive forgot to pass on the information to the bloke who was working on our car. Nothing got done in regards to the steering column and the worn steering rack.

We live an hour away from the place we bought the car from and being under warranty, we can only take it back to them if we have issues with the car. Going down again today to get a new steering column put in and I will be asking about the steering rack again.
                      Cheers Skye

I had my 150 LC4 - UK (VX) in for service yesterday for a 20,000 mile service (done 15,8000) - and a number of items to check.... check if KDSS working correctly (they say it hasn't any KDSS - nonsense of course); tighten h/brake at wheels not just h/brake cable) ; check for ECU updates as hesitates out of r/abouts/corners at times and dash vibration at 1500 RPMS; check for Sat Nav updates; Rotate wheels - including spare; check headlight adjustment as get 'flashed'. I'll submit this before going on as I just lost a big post.....

What faith 'Toyota' - two technicians and a sales guy come out as I'm adjusting car back to 'normal' and state 'your car does not have KDSS - you must read manual which states ' if you have 'multi-terrain' this must be switched to 'on' before KDSS will operate (or some such nonsense) - it just goes to show that these people have no idea and must have a brain the size of a peanut - but they still don't get it!! - MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE MULTI TERRAIN - SO KDSS IS ALWAYS ON!. Is it just me ......?
