  • Winch won't wind in

Hi, took recently purchased 2002 TX for first shake down weekend camping trip to find out what works and what doesn't. Rig has TJM Ox 8500 lb electric winch. We plugged remote control lead for winch in and promisingly the in and out LEDs on the remote lit up. Even more promising was when I clicked out the winch whirred into action and let out some cable. However that's where the good news stops.... When I pushed IN nothing happened. Never had a winch before so would appreciate any tips on this.

    Cheers in advance

It could be a few things, but I'd start with checking the control box, the connections can become corroded, also check on the winch body, are all the connections good?

Is your battery OK? My winch did similar when I tested it on a poorly charged battery, when I fitted it to a properly charged battery it was OK.

I had the same problem. Turns out it was the solenoid. Had corroded inside even thou they are ment to be sealed. I bypassed it to confirm.
