Just wondering if any bullbars off landcruisers or other 4wd 's will fit onto a 90 series prado.
Cheers. :?:
Just wanted to Re-fresh this topic as i have been pondering the same thing.
No mate, you must put a bullbar on the vehicle that the bullbar was designed for. Then you must also ensure that it is airbag compatable. (if you have airbags). Your insurance will wipe you if it isn't ADR complient, and they will try anything to not pay out.
97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.
Bitumen - A blatant waste of taxpayers money!
The only reason i ask is that its a generic shape, I still wouldn't be wasting my time and money on something inferior, just curiosity sake.
Thanks for the reply.
So a 90 with airbags doesn't have the same mounting method used by the non-airbag-equipped model?? due to sensors or what not?? are they still compatible?

Don't know about your country, but in Australia, it is illegal to fit a non air bag compatable bull bar to an air bag equiped vehicle.
Yes the mounts are different, the air bag compatable ones have an accordian look to them, while the non air bag ones are flat.

Thanks man, another question though, wouldn't hitting something at a much slower speed with a bullbar set off the airbags? as it's not made to absorb slow speed bumps the way bumpers are designed to.. This is what's keeping me from buying one...

A bullbar when fitted to an airbag equipped vehicle, must not change the amount of impact needed to set off the airbag, this is why it is imperiative that the bull bar you fit meets these requirements, you should be able to locate a sticker that says this bull bar meets these requirements behind or ontop of the main body of the bull bar.
