  • Rhino Roof Racks

I'm looking for some 2nd hand rhino roof racks for my 2000 prado.

can anybody post some photos of the metal leg straps, showing the profile?

these are the metal plates that clamp under the gutters. I understand that for a 90 series they should be an ST2 strap on a RL110(S2) Leg.

I would be greatful to see the profile as Rhino have nothing on their web site and some racks I'm going to look at Friday arvo on the WE have no history on what car they fitted onto.

The metal strap is the same shape as the "nylon cover" that hooks around the gutter, in effect it is a 90 degree bend or close enough to 90. All the gutter mount legs have the same fitting arrangement. The Rhino fitting instructions you can download from the Rhino site gives a pretty good idea of the shape. You also get the bar length as well from the Rhino site, from memory the Vortex bars are 1375mm long.
Where are you located? I will most likely be selling my tray and/or bars when my new Prado arrives.
02 VX, Toyota Alloy Bar, IPF 900XS with 50 watt HID, 50 mm Lift- Lovell Shocks n Springs, Safari Snorkel, large Pioneer tray, Pioneer In-dash, Alpine roof mount DVD screen -handled the Simpson and Innaminka roads, now with a little TRD blower & Unichip

      Hi Leethal

thanks for the feedback. I am south of perth at rockingham.

Would it be too much to ask for a photo of the strap profile, understand if too much of a pain though.

trouble is i,ve already bought one second hand set that didn't fit and will need to sell them on, or buy just the straps. I thought that they were all the same, but they are not, i think the prado and patrol ones are similar but slighty different from each other, rhino website don't go into these details which makes things hard.

          Hi Zoc

Thanks for the photo's, only two of the 5 came out, but the bit i'm interested in is hidden. It's the metal plate inside the legs (item 3 on the attached). This is the part that differs between models, Prado uses an S2 strap whilst Patrol uses an S5, they both look similar but are different, Rhino don't detail this on their website so I've no idea what the correct S2 strap looks like, which makes it hard when buying 2nd hand.

Great if you are able to post a photo or two of one of your straps?

          Are you selling your racks?

Haha. The 1/5 was a screen Shot of the old eBay ad. Hereís some I just took. Hope it helps.
T he metal plate sits under the gutter, id assume most gutter profiles are the same.
If you wanted to buy them, just make me an offer. Iím new here and done want to get off on the wrong foot. Itís just shipping that may be an issue. Iím in Wollongong.

              Hi Zoc

              Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the photos, that really helps and is much appreciated.

I could be interested, but postage could be a problem, I'm south of Perth in Rockingham. If you're interested in going down this path, perhaps we can talk outside of the thread?
