Winch for ARB bar

Hi all.

I have a Winch compatible ARB steel bull bar on my 95 series Prado and I am looking to fit a winch before xmas.

The question I have is that the ARB bar for this model Prado has the "W" cut out in the front of it for the WARN control box. I really can’t justify the expense of the WARN for the amount of use it will get when compared to the Premier or TMAX winches for example.

When I went to ARB to get some quotes they only wanted to sell me a WARN 9000 due to it being "designed" around my bulbar.

Have any of you guys fitted or seen other winches apart from the WARN in the bulbar?? If so was it just a standard bolt in job like the WARN would be?

I am sure the control box can be mounted up between my driving lights.

I have a feeling ARB are trying to take me for a little ride..

Was that just a standard bolt in job? Did you need any extra brackets to mount the control box in that position?

Yeah mate standard bolt in jobbie we had ARB mount it when we had the bar put on.
