  • 2 batteries in series

Hello, have a doubt regarding having 2 batteries in series.

I have 2 batteries connected in series to start my 1kz-te , i actually live in a cold area and during these winter times i decided to put a second battery for cold starts. But i am afraid of damaging my glow plugs with all the volts. i heard more than 12 volts would kill the glow plug in short time. i also know there is a timer on the glow plug. anyways just want to know if having 2 batteries will kill my glow plugs

PLacing batteries in series will give you 24v. I'd be concerned about all the other electrics in the car.

No reason to put batteries in series. You want higher current not voltage so parallel is the idea.

Just checking, How are they wired up, positive to positive ... Negative to negative or positive to negative ?

          ^^^ what he said.

You cannot connect them in series as this will convert it up 24v, you will have big problems.

You need to connect parallel. That is neg to neg & pos to pos. black to black red to red.

Should have little affect on the glow plugs.
