Cruise control on a diesel RV

I've read in other posts that the cruise control for the diesels is in the ECU.

Does this mean that all I need to do is get the CC stalk, maybe a dash bulb and a clutch switch and I'm good to go?

Yes BUT being a "RV" the wiring harness may not have it in.... not the end of the world its only a few wires i have all the factory wiring diagrams if needed
Cc stalk and clock spring as a minimum

I have acquired the CC stalk. I think it already has the clock spring (RV but with a factory 'safety pack' from new .. ABS, air bags, and pre-tensioners.) I'll let you know how it goes .....

The plot thickens ... Yes I do have a clock spring that appears to have the CC pins in the socket, my cc stalk will plug up electrically but I think I need a different bracket. The donor vehicle was a '97 VX and had a different airbag/horn spring set up. More research needed ...

You need a cc stalk from a airbag wheel....

The CC stalk came from an airbag wheel, but it had a different airbag to mine.
On mine when you undo the torx screws the airbag and horn springs come out as one unit and the back of the airbag is a dome shape.
On the donor car when you undo the torx screws the airbag comes out but not the horn springs, and the back of the airbag is cylindrical shaped. The CC is mounted under the horn springs which doesn't work for me.
The question now is ... are later model airbags like mine .. or is mine somehow special as it is on an RV.
I've had a google around for piks but can only find one of a '98 forerunner which is mounted as per my donor car (97 Vx)
Mine has an LCD odo, the donor has a mechanical odo, this seems the most obvious early vs late model difference.

I have a series 2 airbag wheel in my car... its a one piece unit
Couple of years ago i had a series 1 airbag wheel off a car it was also the same.... is the donor car a jap import?

Today I have been to a local salvage yard and bought a cc switch and clock spring, the clock spring is not needed as I have the same one on my car sadly I have same problem as 321Rods that the airbag set up must be different on my car which is a 2002 I'm unsure what year the car is that I took the switch off. I have managed to get the switch connected to the clock spring connector but sadly I still have no cruise function

Can anyone help me with this please

Should definitely have cruise then, the wiring diagrams are available on the internet for the D4D prado/colorado
