  • rear work light

    Hi guys,
Im looking to wire up my rear work light with a switch on the dash
Its an LED unit so im guessing I dont need a relay?
Is this as simple as running the light to a switch, then from the switch straight to the battery via a fuse?

    Cheers.

    Re: rear work light

Yes, but unless it is one of the quite expensive led units ie 1 lux or more you'll
probably won't be happy with it and will replace it with a halogen unit so I would
run at least 10A cable just in case.

    Cheers

Make sure you use some desent guage cable to minimise the voltage drop.

          Re: rear work light

I was away recently and a fella in our group had just purchased some really powerful LED worklights from Ashdown Ingrams. From what I recall these only drew about 0.8Amps and pumped out an amazing amount of light. He picked them up for about $110 each and they are available as either a spread or a spot. He had these mounted to an extendanble tentpole so when up was about three meters in the area and lite up the area like a footy field. Don't recall what Trevor said they were in Lumens but I'm think it may have been about the 1300 or 1400 mark so you should have a good result.
