Where is this good earth cable? I think there isn't any but if someone knows better I'd sure like to know.
I think there is only one connection between the chassis and the negative. It's at the right battery. A relatively thin and short wire is crimped into the same cable shoe as the fat starter ground wire. This short wire is not designed to carry the starter current.
The perceived funkyness (by me) is because:
- Only the right battery negative pole is connected to the chassis.
- The two plus battery poles are connected with a fat wire, but the two negative battery poles are not.
- The left battery doesn't have a wire to the chassis.
It's not obvious that both batteries supply the same current during starting.
