Couldn't find much pictorial info re catch can installation so here's a few from the one I just installed.
Having removed the inter-cooler so I could give it a clean out, you will see a nickel plated pipe running from the rocker cover down to the turbo inlet (no pic) connected by a short rubber hose at each end..
Remove it as that where the catch can plumbs in.
This is the new oil resistant pipe connected to the rocker cover-
Here's the turbo inlet nipple you connect the other rubber hose to-
Here's the can installed and plumbed in-
The rocker cover hose is run behind the heater hose to keep it away from the inter-cooler inlet pipe which gets hot.
Haven't decided where the turbo hose end should go yet as the exhaust area might burn it.
Comments on this welcome...
My engines done 270K which is why I decided to pull the cooler and inlet manifold and clean it all.
Very little gunk in the cooler, just a light coating of oil. Same with the original link pipe.
This pic is of my throttle body. As its so clean, I didn't bother pulling the manifold after all.
No idea why its so clean. Bit of a mystery that.
