      Ill give it a go didnt think the map sensor had a filter
      It is a 90 series diesel

        Pretty sure none of the 1KZs ever had a map sensor... The sensor your talking about would be the boost sensor and the what looks like a filter is actually a one way valve... Older engines that have a bit of blow-by can get oil into this valve and block it so then the ecu dosnt know its on boost . Believe me youl know if this isn't working there gutless without it !!!!

          Mine is a 2001 KZJ95R Auto
          That consumption you quoted is approx 16.2 L/100kms
          Does seem a bit high. I get quite a difference when towing, but one of the vans i have is an old block of flats aerodynamically.
          Drove from Sydney to Coffs Harbour over Christmas with the van on & averaged 20 L/100kms on the way up.
          Made a conscious effort to cruise it on the way gome & did 15.2 L/100kms.
          Without a van i can do around 10.6 on the open road.
