Torx head on studs is a top idea.
If she was a Nissan, you’d have to double nut them to remove studs.
Toyota with torx head makes it simple.
From memory there were a couple of odd hex bolts on the exhaust manifold, in positions where studs didn’t work.
Or perhaps someone had lost my factory studs.

Nope, your recall is correct! Another must do is to replace those two bolts with M8x1.25 (IIRC, RB30 VL Dunnydore exhaust) studs. Turning bolts under tension into an alloy head is not best practice. The alloy will hold the tension as long as it is not turning as well; it galls up the threads sumthin fierce and chances are high that it will strip out.Originally posted by carco View PostTorx head on studs is a top idea.
