      Same for me.
I can’t remember any torx nuts, but the exhaust studs all had torx heads.
      Typical Toyota idea.

From memory they were on the intake side of the block if Im remembering rightly, weird how everything else in the whole truck is ya standard nuts and bolts, but put torx on the exhaust manifold 2 random nuts that I can’t remember haha and the head bolts are stupid aswell

Torx head on studs is a top idea.
If she was a Nissan, you’d have to double nut them to remove studs.
Toyota with torx head makes it simple.
From memory there were a couple of odd hex bolts on the exhaust manifold, in positions where studs didn’t work.
Or perhaps someone had lost my factory studs.

Nope, your recall is correct! Another must do is to replace those two bolts with M8x1.25 (IIRC, RB30 VL Dunnydore exhaust) studs. Turning bolts under tension into an alloy head is not best practice. The alloy will hold the tension as long as it is not turning as well; it galls up the threads sumthin fierce and chances are high that it will strip out.

M10 x 1.25 is your Nissan stud but they don’t have that nice torx head.
if I had a dollar for every exhaust stud I’ve replaced in skylines over the years.......

The 2 small torx nuts are located near the shaft usually

I found where they came from, there were 2 studs I couldn’t remove from the old head and I replaced them with bolts, a pipe that sits just above the oil filter, completely forgot I did that and I was stressing I missed something out, thanks for all your replys With my issue
