  • Centre diff lock

This is my first PRADO [2000 GXL PETROL] . What i would like to know is must the 4B be stationary to engage the centre diff lock switch.. THANKS for any answers.

Nope, you can engage it whilst moving.
You need to be stopped though to go from HL (centre diff locked, high range) to L (centre diff locked, low range)
Off memory to go back from L to HL, you need to be stopped and in neutral

I found that going from HH to HL is fine while moving however I needed to be going under 30 odd km/hr to get it back into HH otherwise the centre diff light didn't go away. Definately stop before engging/disengaging L.

Engaging the diff lock while moving is fine as long as you aren't spinning wheels as this will (s)mash the teeth on the diff lock clutch.
