Did you end up trying the RoadRunner recovery points on your 90/95 series?
I'm keen to replace my single factory tie down point with something better and one each side but there doesn't seem to be many options out there for the 90 series...
No, I haven't got around to buying a set and filing them out.
Just fitted some Brown Davis bash plates and the RR points will clear the plate nicely.
Just too many other things need the money at present.
If you want to take a punt then they are cheaper if we get a bit of a group buy going...
Anyone heard from Matt yet re production of his design?
Sounds like there are a few 90/95 owners eager to get some points that actually bolt on without any fuss (myself included)
I had a discussion with folks at Opposite Lock here in Adelaide and they seem to think they will be getting some in approx two weeks that will fit on rigs that have the OME alloy bars fitted. I must say I remain a tad scepticle but will go along and have a look when they arrive.

Matt hasn't logged in for nearly a month, might have got cold feet.
If you don't have any luck with OL ones then let me know. I could probably make some if I had a vehicle to measure, maybe next time I visit the big smoke I could measure yours if need be.
Cheers Andrew

I can't remember exactly what the mounting hole centers are but from memory, about 55mm. I'll measure them this weekend for you.
Whatever you make needs to have the extended nose like this jpg so as to clear the front of Brown Davis (and probably others) bash plates.
A left and right variant would be good if pricing permits.
Red powder coat please.
A bit lackin gin that drawing but its a start, does the corner need to be curved, ie bent, or could it be made from angle iron?
Cheers Andrew
Well thats an interesting idea with the angle iron. Can't see why not if the material is hard enough for the shackle not to pull/wear through. Certainly avoids getting the plate bent.
Its a nice big flat area that it mounts against. The only obstruction is the bash plate sticking forward quite a way.
With the standard hooks, there's nothing to obstruct anything.
Pic is worth a thousand words so I'll try and snap some off tonight for you.
Here's some reality pics of the recovery point area under my 90.
Brown Davis plates + ARB Sahara bars
The hook base measures 30 x 85
Hole centres are 34.5mm with 13mm holes
From the pics, you can see the bars have a tie down point that needs to be avoided (or included). The left/right angle iron should just do that ok.
The bar flange that the hook sits on is 40mm wide.
The first bolt hole centre is 23mm from the flange end - note the elongated bolt holes, only 20mm without that.
The flange plate length is 110mm long
End of flange to front of chassis rail is 175mm
The shackle is a 3.25 tonne job.
Extending the shackle hole forward might put a lot of strain on the recovery plate as there'll be a lot of unsupported metal being pulled about. I think it has to be roughly where the shackle is pictured.
Food for thought but Its not going to be as easy as I first thought...
What does everyone use to snatch from the front? The standard front hooks? TJM wanted to sell me some aftermarket hooks for the front but I declined.
I never needed them yet but would be nice to get some points at the front for piece of mind. My TJM bar doesn't leave much room though.
97' Prado Grande, 2 Inch Lift, EFS Suspension, TJM Winch Bar. BFGoodrich A/T KO 275/70/ R16, 20% Tint, Tigerz11 3/4 aluminum roof rack.
The hooks are standard solution but you'll run into problems with the strap falling off the hook.
Even cable ties won't help in mud.
Home made brackets with 10mm structural steel angle is the go. Haven't got around to buying any yet but its the best solution I've found so far. No one makes proper brackets for the 90 series. If you want 'off the shelf' then hooks are all you can buy. Goto Rays Outdoors or Super Cheap when they have a 20% off sale.

By the way, the standard front hooks are not not rated so may fail sending broken bits of hook into orbit or through your wifes head.
Buy rated hooks!
