Gidday!!
Well Im a newbie to the Prado scene and to this site so be gentle alright yous mob
I went out and bought a "new to me" 1998 3400 V6 Prado in April this year... and after the dimwitted idiot that did the compete oil change at the dealer cracked the gearbox housing as he overtightened the nut which then meant I had a weeks wait for them to fix the sodding thing... I got one of the son in laws (mechanic) to go over her from top to bottom and once given the all clear promptly bolted to Broome!!
Straight up to Meekatharra Newman Marble Bar and a 2 day stop over at Wallal Station near Sandfire to soak up the sun and warmth spend a while swimming and fishin on the 80 mile beach finally wandered up to Broome town and spent a week muckin about with my younger sis who lives up there before wending my way home again
A WEEK LATER... the youngest 2 (note we have 8 nippers  )... the 13 year old boy and 14 year old girl who were on school hols and scratching themselves as to what they should do for 2 weeks the 3rd the ladeeda 16 year old girl who didnt want to go anywhere refused to do anything without half a dozen of her like you know like cool girlfriends  so she stayed with her mum... and guess what!!??
3 days later we were soaking up the rays in Broome... AGAIN!!! we spent a wonderfull week there and then sadly it was time to get sane again and head home...
12000 clicks in 3 weeks!!
SHEER BLISS tinged with agony of the glutimus maximus!!! oooh wow whoever tells you that the Prado seats are comfy for long trips HAVENT DONE ONE like that!!! :? oooh the pain
After the first trip was done I had to say the Prado was THE BEST drive seating and comfort as well as the vehicles cruising style that Id had the pleasure of driving... after the second I still felt the same it was a great trip!! Just certain parts of my anatomy were NOT HAPPY!
ops:
At 51 Ive done some bush camping swags and rougher over the years so this time Id bought a couple of swags for the kids and I and mates I tell you what age sure makes you KNOW whats under a 2in foam mattress... SOOOO... since returning home weve gone and bought a camper trailer and are in the processes of taking its wheels axle and tow bar off and bolting it down onto a 6x4 trailer with some extra reinforcing!! (hey its a pommy camper and made LIGHT so we gotta beef it up  )
As I said earlier this vehicle had NOT been off the road once before I got it the whole thing was pristine inside outside and underneath it ran like an absolute new car... but its now seen a sparkle of the purpose of its creation!! its been covered in the red pindan of the Kimberlies and the mud of the Brunswick Junction back blocks felt the racking sounds of rocks and boulders and the feel of whipping branches... it do likes it!!!
The only things Ive done since I got it is to a) put an ARB bullbar on her (THANK GOD!!) b) put some "roo lights" on her c) take out the rear jump seats and d) get a Uniden 400 UHF cb and arial which need to be fitted but as Im dithering about where to install it its still in its box!!
Ive spent the last few hours reading through some of the posts and gaining some info
Just thought Id introduce meself 8) ... once I figure how to post pics in a post I will REALLY introduce meself the Prado and some pics of Broome and the trip... eerr trips that is
Cheers all
