How long do the front cv's last? I noticed the boot on 1 of my c/v is about thorn in half and on the other side it appears the front diff seal is leaking Im about to replace the front c/v joints and the 2 front diff seals. My prado has 255 thousand k's on it when I brought it I thought the c/v joints were pretty new then, how long on average did every one else's last. Any thing to watch out for when changing the front c'vs ill try and order them this week or early next week.

Ive done just under 300k and I'm about to change them. Only because the inner boots are damaged and lost some grease.there not making a clicking noise but im guessing that the loss of grease has let them vibrate now at certain revs. Im putting toyota back in. -
you going to do the seals in the end of the IFS housing? Do you know the part numbers by any chance?

yes im changing them, right side is 90311-47013 and left is 90311-40712Comment

Mine has done a very hard 201k and we replaced the boots just before Christmas as they were so stiff they kept pulling off.Michael and Kelly

They quickly eat money prado's Im starting to regret buying the bloody thing to be honest. Im not really impressed with its performance as a 4 wd to be honest.

Ive had it since new, havnt spent anything on it other than services,it's never missed a beat, its only now that I'm putting some back into it so I'm not sure why you think they eat moneyComment

the toyota dealer raping me every time I buy parts. I just did plugs and starting to think the timing belt is coming up. Ive only driven mine 20 thousand ks in the time Ive had it so far. From reading the service book its had all of what the toyota dealer wanted to do to it thru its life just its come to a time that everything that's not been replaced is starting to get old. Along with the things I seam to break every time I shift the cdl level. All Im saying is the 90 series is no better than any other make of 4wd maybe I would of been better off buying a shorter wheel base 4wd, I like the room for carrying stuff in the back but the trade off of the long wheel base does make me worry at times.I got myself some Big Horn Maxxis and was telling my landrover lover mate he said what size did you get I told him 265/75/16 he said I didn't know they came that small.Comment
