I am trying to identify an intermittent squeaking sound from under the bonnet.
At stand still, the sound disappears, and under acceleration it also disappears. So hard to identify the source.
It sounds like a belt/pulley noise, and while i had the bash plates off, i had a look at the pulleys to see if there was any movement in the bearings.
The only pulley i could feel slight movement in was the A/C tension pulley.
I undid the 14mm tensioning bolt until i got thread exposed under the head of the bolt.
The belt did not seem to loosen though, so i am not sure if there is a locking bolt somewhere i need to also loosen off.
I could not see any, so i removed the pulley nut, and managed to remove the tension pulley off the belt.
The bearing looked ok, and could only just feel a very very minor play, maybe enough to make a noise, maybe not.

I put it back in for now, and tried to re-tension the belt a bit tighter than it was previously, but not sure if the tensioner was still not working, as a locking bolt was holding it in place still.
I ordered a new Pulley online for $35 delivered, hoping this will eliminate the noise.
Is there a second bolt i need to loosen to release the tension to the A/C belt somewhere?
