I saw a 90 series Prado the other day, that had indicators in the tail lights up the side of the back. My model has red lenses there that have no lights behind it and the later model has clear/white lenses with no lights behind. This one was definately orange and the indicators had lights behind them. I also noticed that it was a TZ model. I have never seen or heard of this model. What spec level is it and where can I get some of those tail-lights?

Hi ya,
have seen those rear lights on flea bay. I think you have to diy the wiring to the indicators from your exsisting indicators. They do look better.DanrexComment

sounds like an import, mine has all 4 indicators and stop lights and is also an import.
Aus design rules must only need two lights, the cost of extra lights times number of prados sold = lots of money for toyota
dad added yellow globes to the blank indicators and wired them to the existing lights, works alrightGlenn

Wiki mentions the TZ, its the base model and would be an import in Oz ...

We get TX and TZ models over here in NZ - I think they are low spec Jap Imports. Our NZ New Prado's do not have the high level indicators. The holes are blanked over in the upper cluster. I grabbed some lamp holders off an import at the wreckers and fitted them to mine along with orange bulbs - works a treat and is visible over the trailer for following traffic.2005 100 Series Landcruiser. 4.2 T/D 5 speed auto. LTD c/w AHC/Leather etc.Comment

FYI, the reason the indicators are mounted in the rear bar and not in the lenses on the corners is because the mounting of the spare wheel doesn't allow for the full viewing angle required by the ADR's. Same reason for only one reverse light being fitted to late model patrols.Comment

The non working lights has mystified me since getting ours, and with most car designs featuring high rear lights it's odd that they are so low.
If anyone has a pic or part number of the globe holder can you post it please?

richGoldmember, a Prado Grande 2000 model, because people out there have been turning music into gold. A mobile soundstage currently under construction utilizing old school multi-channel active system design. All to have an Amsterdam good time.
