Here's my 2002 Prado VX taken in 2003 about a year after we got it. It's still all stock here but now sports an ARB steel bull bar and IPF XS spotties; I really must find a more recent photo ops: .

Thanks Phillionaire Yeah, the weekend was spent surf casting off Moana Beach in SA. The fishies were quite quiet, but the water was good ;D

Nice grille fido666. Do you think an '02 VX grille will fit a '97 GXL?

Don't know for sure EasyCompany, would need to see a photo of your grille head on. They are fairly similar but the lights might be a different shape.

The issue would be in the mounting. On mine (97), the grill is held on with plastic clips on each headlight, a locating dowel and a screw in the centre above the Toyota badge.

The late model 90's had Plastic headlights as apposed to the earlier glass units, so it's not unlikely that the two headlight designs use different mounts for the grill.

You might be better off looking for a chrome grill like snaga's which uses the same mounts.

My headlights have plastic backs on them but I'm not sure about the grille mounting. I'll have a look for you tomorrow but it's probably better to check with Toyota spare parts. Going OT now so lets get back to those 90 pics eh?

I'd be worried about all that salt water on the underside of my Prado but I guess as long as you rinse well it's OK. I guess in Nederland you don't exactly have mountains to climb so you have to get your 4WD fix on the flat stuff most of the time .

You are welcome, the seals are indeed a wildlife rescue and release expidition. We were not involved but just passing trough.
It is one of oure insels on the North coast, this one is called Teschelling.

The salt water is consurning. I treated the car at the undersite with Dinitrol a kind of ML, I trust that it will protect te car. In winter there is also a lot of salt on the road for de-icing. I spend some time to rinse the car afterwards.

The Netherland are indeed flat, no mountains or sand, there for we have to take a drive :
                                But there is some mud....

for sand we can go to Afrika (Marokko or Mauretanie) ,

and for Mountains to Spain (lots of other options to) :
