      • Hi all. greetings from Mongolia! Get lots of useful information on your website and would like to share photo of my ride. Front headlamp and rear tailights have been replaced. v6 3400cc petrol engine. suspension: IKOMA, Taiwanese shock absorbers. These are cheap, yet durable absorbers, highly recommended. Mongolian cold, harsh winter kills shock absorbers quick enough, which gives good reason not to buy expensive ones like ARB OME, ironman. Nearby 200 is owned by my uncle. 60th anniversary edition, land cruiser 200 VX. Its too soft ride makes me vomit every time i sit in his 200.

            • i would not say those are better than dodgy standards. its a trade off i guess. the new ones dont illuminate sideways well. you will notice this problem alot in offroad travel. the low and high beam is sharper and brighter in concentrated area. beams are very friendly on drivers eyes of approaching vehicles in front of you. to fix low lighting of sideways problem, you have to install aftermarket foglights i guess. the look of the headlamp was the reason i bought em. in the dusk and night, these headlamps rock with its solid look!.

                • Here are some action shots of mine, taken by other PPers on a recent trip.

Was the only one to take on the rock shelf. even the lads with Lockers werent game. but the old girl walked up it with out any real trouble, just needed the right line haha.

No lockers? Impressive. On rock steps like that, unless all 4 wheels are perfectly placed it looses traction so easily without lockers.

                    • Good shot Declan, and of course show it off, no point climbing the rock otherwise!

Impressive shot draycon! Like Declan, I'm curious about it. The photos don't quite show how level the step is. If it's not level it would seem impossible without lockers..

                      • Yep, no Lockers, just the rear lsd in good working order (i hope haha)

It was close, landed on the side steps on the approach to it.

the step was level, but on the right side of the photo you see another ledge, it was at almost 90 degrees to the actual step, so i drove into that and used the side wall tread to climb up the walls, there is actually plenty of room under the car to clear the transfercase and gearbox.

the wedgeing of the tyres into the walls of the ledges proved plenty of pressure to make the sidebiters grab, and then the same in the rear with a little momentom

I had some trouble with that a few months back. Turns out the the sub tank plate has been pushed into the path of the uni-joint.
