Re: Heading off for the 2009 GTG

          All,
Both Grey Nomad and myself are at Mount Isa with our caravans. On Tuesday we both set set off for Boulia then to Birdsvile on Wed. We will leave the caravans here at Mt Isa for almost 3 weeks.
With LFaR and Stan we will cross the Simpson and arrive in Alice 3 July.
I have done about 4130 km so far with a lot of off road and bush roads. Prado performing well.
Everything is good and we are looking forward to the GTG.
I have been travelling to the GTG for 3 weeks but Grey Nomad has been on the road for 3 months.
Cannot wait to catch up with everyone

Re: Heading off for the 2009 GTG

Well I see that Matt and Ben are camping down by the river tonight in Mitchell in Qld. Looks like they went to the visitors centre for a while as well. Hope the weather is nice and clear for you guys tonight considering it rained a bit on you today.

Last time I checked on Glenn (Yota) they were in Cobar caravan park. I know that place pretty well, the Caltex next door does a half decent meal too.

                Cheers

Re: Heading off for the 2009 GTG

Well today I spent the day packing the car and bolting the Rhino basket and awning on, changing the oil and other bits and pieces. It's amazing how quick you run out of space when trying to fit everything in.
Tommorrow morning we head off at the crack of dawn, first stop Gilgandra in the Central west to catch up with my parents and sister, then continuing the following day to link up with JeffH and driving to White Cliffs.
All going well, we will see you all at Ross River sometime on the 4th.
I reckon I'll need a beer or three to wash the dust away.

                        cheers,

                                Well there you go.
Our family used to have a holiday house in Nelson Bay when we were growing up. We used to walk along a track to Corlette Beach whenever we were there.
Funny the twists and turns that life takes us.
