    • Sounds fantastic SA crew... Long Service Leave request has gone in, I'll start packing next week...

Mrs LD will be there this time even if I have to push her there in a wheelchair!

Little Miss LD will be almost 2yo by then so she'll be running around trying to be the Pradopoint Fairy's little apprentice and terrorising you all.

      Can't wait.

      • Can I suggest the Portland Dune Buggy club for anyone who wants to have more fun in the dunes on the way home?

Google it if you are interested.

Bit pricey as you need to cough up membership fee to go there.

        I haven't been there - has anyone?

            • Rev, challenges have been thrown out, even photos of boys doing the "side of road biz". Qlders will always rise to the challenge whatever the terrain may be.

The Pradopoint Fairy has posted that all comers will be challenged whether it be tracks or partying...bring it on

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

There are plenty of big to really big dunes to play in south of Nora Criena without going in the buggy club area

I don't think that these South Australians take the Pradopoint Fairy seriously, Richo.
Nor are they taking the Queenslanders seriously.

However, we Queenslanders & others know, that, this is at their great peril!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the inside information (wink wink), I could apply for & get my Holidays for this event. As I had to apply in Oct last year.
So bring on the registration, I am all over this one.

                    Cheers

In the words of SAPRADOGXL, "personal Health Days" are acceptable. I suggest I arrange a sick note saying you are suffering from motion sickness caused by flying. The only known cure is travel by car over a week long period. This way the full cost of the event would be a medical expense.

Footnote: those little Pradpoint Fairies are gonna luv me and the theme song!

                      • All the pics are great to show what sort of terrain we will be covering. I will be guided by others as to which route we will take as I have not taken the camper trailer really off road yet and not knowing just how difficult difficult is in your terms. I am sure after two days driving in the Bendleby Ranges we will all have an idea how we are all going and just what everyone might be capable of doing.

Really looking forward to attending the GTG as it will be the last week of a 4 week tripping around S.A. The reall icing on the cake.

                        • Just looked up the Border Track on youtube and all I can say is WOW!!! Not sure how I will go getting the camper trailer up some of those HUGE dunes, might be the chicken track for me.

Unfortunately, there aren't chicken tracks around all of the dunes! That's the beauty of it. Some of the big ones you just have to do! After all, it's a one-way track, so you actually can't go back...

Just remember - Pack Light. If you let the missus pack, you may not get over the dunes during the transit leg ;-)

P.S. - we are considering alternatives for people who do not feel up to the task. Of course, this requires many more Recces which the committee is obviously very disappointed about. I think a quick count yesterday had us down at about another 10 recces all of which are DEFINITELY necessary....

                            • I also feel that the need to employ a consultant for these said recee's is manditory! (Am available at no cost if your a registered charity) If only for me to drink beer and watch MLC get bogged once again. I can honestly say that nothing sensible will come out of it other than me getting away from wife & mother in law.
