        • Have been laying everything out in the shed to see what we are taking and make sure we have everything that we need and not what we would like to have.

Have been wondering if we needed to carry a jerry can of fuel with us. We are driving a V6 and towing a camper trailer. I am sure the committee has work this all out but would just like to put the question out there and hopefully get an answer.

We made the only petrol driver on the committee go out and buy a new diesel to overcome this sort of problem. Now he has bought it the answer is no. You won't need any fuel jerries. would recommend everyone tryto get to Bendleby with relatively full tanks so filling up doesn't become an issue.

            Cheers

Being that all the committee own diesels, there answer may be simply.... trade up to a diesel

I have been working on a list of helpful hints for those coming and fuel requirements are on that list which we will send out in due course. As far as fuel goes, we have around 100km or so of tracks at Bendleby, then approx 400km transit to Loxton. With such a large group it going to be important to get everyone running smoothly and not having a different person wanting to stop in everyother town for fuel and supplies. So the plan is for Loxton to be the stock up point for fuel and food and other such things.

If participants can have enough fuel on board for 600km then they should make Loxton comfortably, a fill up in Loxton will get you through the rest of the trip with ease, even with a V6 there are plenty of opportunities to get fuel previous to this if people are desperate but are all likely to be more expensive than Loxton. BP and Caltex will be available here, there will be NO opportunity to use shopper dockets at any fuel outlet on the route that I am aware of.

                Cheers Andrew

                • Thanks Andrew for your helpfull comments. Sounds like we will be fine then with fuel. Was always going to make sure we were full as possible before arriving at Bendlby so should be good.

Surely I am not the only V6? Or am I the only on concerned this far out? So much to do and so little time beofre we go.

                      • Ok VKPrado, you may be the only V6 ?? and yes will use more fuel but when it comes to the sand dunes that extra V6 power and fuel used to punch throught the deepest of sand will leave the D4D's wishing they had the same grunt !!! LOL dont prove me wrong now when it comes to it. Im spewing Im not going as we will be in Fiji for a wedding and secondly I dont have the 120 ready yet for off roading (lack of funds) but I wish I was there backing the V6 prados lol just the same (just stirring) Hope every one has a great time. My wife and I enjoyed it in 2010 when we went, had a great time like Im sure everyone that is going will......Cheers Steve

A quick look at those coming reveals the following.

Their will be 6 Petrols and and 34 Diesels, this could cause us some issues, if we burn 1 petrol a night we will run out before the trip is finished, note to self, better bring fire wood as well

We will only have 2 90 series, 9 150 series and 29 120 series, this may change depending on what Stewy does, might even have an FJ!

Around half the Prados will have a winch and all but 2 have lift kits, both Petrols

If you add up all the phone numbers of those that have registered it comes to 19,251,951,286

All the above information was correct at the time of publication, unless the idiot that wrote it made a mistake, all information is subject to change from unforseen events, natural disasters, climate change, continental drift or the end of the universe as we know it

                              • Impressive figures you have come up with AJ120.

I can't remember if I said I was going to look at a lift kit or not so not sure if I am one of the two petrols without a lift kit. The V6 group will have to stick together and try and put on a good show.
