Anyone not ready to depart before 8AM will have to follow Matty's oil leak trail as best they can....

But really just how early are we talking about when having an early start?
For much of the trip everyone will be doing the same tracks, so with 40 vehicles we need to stagger the starting times so not everyone is in the same place at the same time. most days I would expect groups to leave from between 8.30 - 9.30. Our hope is that the groups will vary from day to day rather than the same people travelling together each day, giving everyone the opportunity to mingle with all those on the trip. No doubt some people will be keen for the later starts each day and others happy to go early but we hope people can vary times a bit in order to experience travelling with different people.
Likewise we hope that most people will get the opportunity to be led (maybe astray) by a number of the committee members.
We will be sending out more detailed info regarding starting times and groups as we get closer to the event.
Day 2 at Bendleby we are allocated leaving times at 15 minute intervals for each group, we have booked 8.30, 8.45, 9.00, 9.15 and 9.30.
Trish and I have been known to have the camper trailer packed up and on the road by 5am, so if anyone is keen for an earlier start we can accomodate that
Cheers Andrew

When I were a lad, we were on road 2 hours before we went to bed. Bloody youngsters got it too easy these days. (said in the spirit of the Goons routine)

Yep, the young'uns don't know how easy they have it. When I was a lad it was a 5 mile walk to school and the same again to get home, and it was up hill............... Both Ways!

Did you also have to walk bare footed to save the sole of your shoes? I sure do get sick of hearing that one.
But then again the older generation have to admit they do appreciate he luxury that they can now drive places in a day that used to take a week in the horse and buggy.

Well it is now only 85 days to the start of the GTG at Bendleby Ranges. Can't half tell we are excited here!
Crap, we still gots lots of work to do! No doubt we will pull it all together in time though. Shirts are the next big thing for us to get organised, just waiting on sponsors to be finalized and getting logos, hopefully we will send out emails regards shirts in a couple of weeks.
Everyone coming should have recieved at least one email from Trish requesting some information from you, most have replied but for those that haven't it would be great if you could do that so Trish can compile all the info.
I will be sending out an email to all shortly regards different options for some of the trips, once again a swift response will help keep the wheels turning.
Cheers Andrew

You lucky bastard. When I were lad, we got up before we went to bed, made the road to the school, then went home for bread and water before walking back 10 mile to school.

She was asking for spouses and kids names and a picture of those coming to compile a handbook for the Leaders, with over 100 people attending we are going to need all the help we can get to remember names!
Unfortunatley all the committee already know your name and what you look like Rob. A face only a mother could love
