you may find that some sections of the sand driving will require 6psi in the tyres... at least that was what was required by the last V6 prado travelling a particular section of beach needed to get through...

Wooley dropped in at my place today to drop off some merchandise and let me measure up the 150 for some sliders, after the work was done what are we to do? 2 Prado's in the same place and nothing but work to do around home Hmmmmm.
Unofficial recce was the only realistic option!
Part of the planning for the GTG involves contingencies in case "shit happens" and we can't take the planned tracks, so off to a local spot for some sand driving. After a bit of a wander through the dunes we headed to the biggest dune in the area. It is on private property owned by one of the members of my 4wd club and we often head out there for sand driving. In 20 years I am told that only 2 vehicles have ever made it up this dune, I have tried a number of times with no success.
Well we can now say that 3 have made it up with only a very short run up available and a lot of tries the winning combination is 1st gear High, 10psi, both lockers in, gentle take off so as not to bounce during the 10 metre run up, then full noise as you hit the bottom of the dune and a huge yeeeeee haaaaaa WHEN I CRESTED THE TOP!
Wooley got damn close, further up than I have seen anyone else get, but lets face it, its a 150 not 120
Sorry, I forgot to take the camera, will make sure I get pics next time!
