You will see at Talbotville the river starts off nice and clean in the morning then once the crossing starts getting used it gets dirty quick.

Yarra River, not that dirty who knows what you will find in the Yarra.

First time I ever went to Talbotville, it was end of cup weekend, brown as the brown, very disappointing, but now I know how good it usually looks even after many crossings. It's a very warm river in comparison to some others in those there hills.

Just wondering whether we are likely to be going on tracks where the bush closes in resulting in pinstripes? I have found a coating in my shed left over from when we did the Canning which I will apply if the tracks are a bit closed in. Otherwise I won't bother as it is a bugger to remove post trip. By the way my Prado is not a Toorak Tractor so a few pinstripes are ok (although they will be the first)

What's the coating Wayne? I was just going to apply a good wax in the hope the branches deflect off it better than the bare paintwork. Oh and the first pinstripe is the hardest to accept LOL.

Its called Auto Skin and I bought it at Opposite Lock but that was about 4 years ago and the Auto Skin website now only shows graphics wrapped on to the car for advertising. Maybe they realised it didn't really peel off as easy as they claimed and stopped making it. Goes on with a small paint roller. Supposedly peels off easy. Looks just like PVA but not priced like PVA. Dries matt and goes white when damp or wet. But it does work (made our Black 120 look like a mad max car)

That auto skin works really good and it will be on mine before I leave .
The scratches I do have on the car is because I forget to put it on for day trips.
Last GTG I had it on the car and didn't get any scratches, it also lasted to the cape and back.

If anyone wants some I should have a bit left and I can bring it up aswel . Alcohol can be payment lol

You can get a few stripes, but generally it's very good. Nothing that won't polish out before you sell it.
Wayne from memory you have white? Will be a lot better than the old black one :-) whites bloody bewdiful for bush.

Yes, white is more forgiving. I got the worst scratches on the Black 120 when I went on trips without the auto skin.
Fido, you just need it along the sides including the mirrors and tail light sides however the mirrors fold in on the 150 so will not be quite as vulnerable. I used race tape on the 120 chrome mirrors. Again, hard to get off but no scratches

You don't have to do front or back but I think I have enough to do another car maybe two .
I will apply it tomorrow and see how much I have left.

Back to the question, no, we are unlikely to be scrub bashing. Most likely the only time you will be in close contact with the vegetation is getting off the track for oncoming vehicles.

So the answer is still no then, since we will not be getting off the tracks for anyone. Just need to make sure our group is bigger than theirs .

The goop guys took over auto skin I think.

Does that stuff go soft & wash off in the rain? Or pretty tuff?
