Plenty to see and do, not all of it from a Prado either!

Just booking the barge to get one of the race cars over for Targa Tasmania this year.
A lot cheaper than the spirit! But not as comfy!

Shoulda organised one for all of us to get to the GTG.

The barge is a regular service. It goes from just next to the spirit in Melb and lands in Burnie.
Has cabins as well. But bare basics. We use them all the time for the race transporters.
Crystal Pearl Altitude 150 Landcruiser Prado. TJM sensor bar, brush guard, side steps. KM2 BFG on GXL alloys. Kaymar bar, Drifta and MSA fridge slide. ARB locker and compressor, and MK11 compressor and fuel filter bracket.
Not sure if this should be in this thread or places to go thread but - any recommendations for campsites in/ around Devonport/Launceston/Tamar valley for a week before the start of the GTG.
Whilst I'd love to spend all my time driving round the state, the kids might not be so keen to spend all day everyday in the Prado (can't see why), so we've decided to stay put the first week and do various day trips in and around this area before the GTG. (We are planning a separate Southern trip another time).
We are happy with pretty much everything from bush camps on up.
Wings Wildlife Park in Gunns Plains has been suggested, anything else?
Or should we just warm up the campsite at Myrtle Park for a week?

Well about a "one and half" hour drive further west from Devonport (Don Railway in Devonport, btw.) is Stanley. We've stayed at Crayfish Creak - you can get powered sites, and rent campfire stoves as well.
Just up the road is Stanley -"go the nut", Chairlift ride, marine display/museum.
About an hour's drive further on is Dismal Swamp (don't let the name fool you) - there is a slide and very well done walk. Slide is for 8 and older.
Coming back up past Launceston is the Seahorse World and there is Hollybank Treetops Adventure.
That's about all I have. Google is your friend with the above.
