I want a 2" lift under the old girl, i've presently got HD springs in the front taking the weight of the bar/winch/dual batt/roof cage, but i want to change over the lot for a new full set of springs/shockies. I'll be looking at medium duty springs for ride comfort and if the need arises further down the track for carrying extra weight in the back i'll fit poly airs. My bro in law is a mechanic so i can get him to fit/assist me but i was just after some advice, particulary from the tassie tribe on what sort they have and how much i'm looking at paying - they seem to start around the $800 and go up from there, realistically around $1300 is the top of my budget (purchase only). King springs and any of either EFS, Lovells, Bilstein, OME seem to be thhe go, any comments/suggestions on where to get them welcome.
Honestly, I've only had dealings with the OME on mine and I'm happy, CFryback is happy with his TJM stuff as well. I think it's just that most are a good improvement over the stock set-up.

            • OME here for me as the service/follow up I have received has been great.

What ever you do get make sure it suits your vehicle weight as I now need to up spec the front springs due to new ARB bar and winch.

              • Yes agree VK and as i already have a winch and bar im hoping i wont be adding too much more weight to my current setup. This way the suspension i get should suit the now and future weight setup. As a side note and more relevant to the 2015 GTG ... ive got an ironman bar with built in recovery points, are these considered suitable from the 'minimum requirements' point of view?

                  Recovery points
In the minimum vehicle requirements we have set, you will see that we have specified “suitable” recovery points. Given the controversial nature of recovery points we will offer the following as a guide to what the committee believes to be suitable!
Original equipment tie down points: these are suitable for towing only. They are not suitable for snatching or winching.
Outback Ideas recovery points (or similar) when used with a bridle are considered suitable for most recoveries including snatching and winching. These recovery points must be attached with minimum grade 8.8 bolts.
ARB bullbar loops when used in conjunction with a bridle are considered suitable for most recoveries including snatching and winching, high tensile bolts with a minimum grade of 8.8 should be used on these as well.
Towbars are considered suitable for most recoveries including snatching and winching, The use of a recovery hitch is needed for winching, and is also advisable for snatching. If using the hitch pin to attach the snatch strap this must be a minimum of grade 10.9 metric or grade 8 imperial. The towball MUST NOT be used for recoveries under any circumstance.
Rated recovery hooks (10,000lb) securely attached to the vehicle chassis or on solid mounting points that are securely attached to the chassis using minimum grade 8.8 bolts or grade 5 if using imperial bolts; are considered suitable for most recoveries including snatching and winching, especially when used in conjunction with a bridal.

Above is from the minimum vehicle requirements thread. In the highlighted section if you replace ARB with Ironman then I can not see an issue with your setup.

The first mention of a Tasmania GTG was actually at the 2015 South Australia GG and at the start of the week it was a joke that we would hold it in 2020, but by the end of the week 2015 was being about seriously.

I truly hope that you all find the GTG and Tasmania a wonderful experience.

                            • 20 degrees in Perth today, wet and freezing so far. SWMBO is worried that it's going to be cold in Tassie and everyday we watch the weather reports to see what it's like down there. It should be fun with just the camper trailer.

                              • It will be cold as next stop south is Antarctica. It is a different type of temperature here as 25 degrees can be quite hot even for a Queenslander. If it does get to cold there is always a nice pub with a hot fire to warm you.
