Geez, it's gone quiet on this thread. You guys saving yourselves for the GTG? Has anybody got any good references or touring type books that highlight Tasmania so we can get to all the other must-see spots after the GTG? Saw Pat Callinan's show the other day and that really wet the appetite.
The confirmed attendees list is updated with 17 confirmed.
Just remember that if you have any questions about Tasmania or the GTG you can either ask them here or send one of the committee a PM and it will be answered. There is also the facebook page for any of the partners of members who might want to ask questions.

Just booked the ferry so it all real now - Dep Melbourne 20th Sept. I've made an assumption that the final night will be close enough to Devonport to make the evening ferry on 3rd October. Please tell me I'm right?

You are right. It is an hours drive to get to the boat from the last nights camp. This is one of the reasons for making the last night where it is.

Have been quietly keeping an eye on this thread and wishing to get involved on committee and also attending the event but recently jobless and knowing it was on the cards for a few months I decided it was unfair to get involved with not knowing where I will be situated in the next month let alone 12 months.
If any one has any questions or need help , advice on anything send me a message I am willing to answer questions outside of the planning of this event eg tips on places to see or travel times from a - b cheap pub meals good free camps etc , just to free up the committees time.
Hey fishfinder, sorry to hear about the job, hope things go OK in the future on that front.
Always welcome on anthing to do with the GTG - the more input the better.
Just spent a few days driving/ camping/ reccie and have come up with a few nice trips. Nothing to hard but there are challenges for those who are up for them. Keeping with the spirit of the event it is very family friendly and also showcasing some natural and man made wonders.
Also Mrs VKPrado did some sampling of locally produced ales and ciders to ensure they are of the upmost quaility for the GTG. There was also cheese tasting in there somewhere as well.

Well it is the middle of summer and we have just had 48mm of rain over night so it has turned some of the routes a bit muddy. The plan is to make all the routes driveable with A/T tyres so no need to get out the M/T's just yet.
