Thanks all who have replied so far. I'll be working on it some more later this week. It seems that some of the places just are too busy to get back to me right now, so I'm going to bug them some more by phone over the next day or two.Happy owner of a Dark Red 120 D4D with lots of lovely extra bits.
On here cos I opened my mouth at the Tassie GTG to organise a WA GTG.

With the GTG finishing in Broome, what are others thinking of doing after that?
I have been pouring over maps, reading reports, listening to advice and am slowly piecing together a plan to slowly make our way back to Tasmania. There is never enough time to do everything but trying to fit in what we can but also relax and enjoy the experience.
Some of the ideas being thought about so far are; camel ride on Cable Beach (no negotiations on this apparently), Steep Point, Tom Price (couple of national parks in the area), the Pinnacles, visit family in Perth, Holland Track, Old Eyre Highway, whale watching, worlds longest golf course. This is just some of my thoughts but has filled in the evenings quite nicely.
We have even started buying things like day packs ready for the gorge walks (those that know me know that I don't like walking but at this stage am excited about the walks), looking at footwear to walk in the water of the gorges etc.Tasmania 2015 GTG Committee Member 2005 Prado Pilbara, Sovereign Bar, Driver & passenger weathershields, UHF TX3220, Spare wheel spaces, Lifestyle rack, Genuine front & midrow seatcovers, Genuine front & midrow rubber floor mats, ARB 47 litre fridge/freezer, Hilux washer jets, BF Goodridge A/T, Radiator protection plate, Dual battery tray and isolator, ARB 2.5m awning, Rhino heavy duty areo bars, MSA rear wheel bin, MAXTRAX

Its been a few years since we were up that way but I don't remember the main gorges being that far too walk from anywhere, apart from Manning Gorge (you could swim across or take the longer walk when we were there, but I understand there is now a tinny to cart your gear across) Can't speak for EQ as we didn't go.
We just did it all in thongs and barefeet but river shoes or the backpacker special rafting sandals would be the best bet for the gorges IMO. You're not going to walk more than a couple of KM to get to any from what I remember, Mr and Mrs Whitey will have a better idea though.
I really am jealous for those going and will live vicariously through the various threads but it looks like we are 90% committed to 6 weeks in the UK next year at the same time.120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'

Outside of the Tasmania 2015 GTG it looks like this will be the largest Tasmanian contingent ever at a GTG. Bring it on!Tasmania 2015 GTG Committee Member 2005 Prado Pilbara, Sovereign Bar, Driver & passenger weathershields, UHF TX3220, Spare wheel spaces, Lifestyle rack, Genuine front & midrow seatcovers, Genuine front & midrow rubber floor mats, ARB 47 litre fridge/freezer, Hilux washer jets, BF Goodridge A/T, Radiator protection plate, Dual battery tray and isolator, ARB 2.5m awning, Rhino heavy duty areo bars, MSA rear wheel bin, MAXTRAX
