Thanks for that Lost Dingo, priceless stuff, where would I get carnuba products ? is there outlets or is it on line only ?

There are waxes such as Mothers and Meguiars that have a small amount of carnuba but to get the good stuff you need to go to http://www.carcareproducts.com.au or http://waxit.com.au

Car Care is in Sydney, Waxit in Melbourne. If you order from Car Care call them on Monday and tell them that Paul (guy with the Charcoal Prado) sent you.

Personally I like the DoDo Juice. A little tub will last you couple years if you wax often. High in carnuba content, you purchase based on the color tones but best thing about good carnuba you have no white wax residue in the cracks/crevices etc because good carnuba is clear. Not a problem if you get it on the trim etc or black plastics.

I had paint protection applied by a Toyota stealership. My advice is save your money. They told me I wouldn't have to wax or polish for 5 years. Within 3 months the surface was no longer beading or repelling anything. I was getting surface staining etc. Waste of money and dishonest advertising if you ask me. Beware of all the extras they offer... most of the time you can buy the same stuff at an Auto store and do it yourself for a fraction of the cost.

I agree Offroader they frighten you into it under the guise of "oooh you dont want to take the chance your paintwork might fade so you need to let us ..........." so right the add says , we put the yota through everything you can imagine, minus 50 to plus 50 and it took it all, mustv'e been everything but the paint aye ???

i know a guy who does this for a living with the car dealers and he told me not to waste my money on it and that "it was a load of crap" so i will trust his judgement and give it a big miss. (he does the "paint protection thing etc" as well as repairs to cars bumpers, dents etc for car dealers)

Does anyone know if it is true that if you do get paint protection you then NOT able to buff out scratches ???

you can still buff out defects, but you will remove whatever product is used on your paint.

The salesman kept trying to get me to agree to pay an extra £299 for paint and upholstery protection. Despite me saying no, he kept on about it and then he put the cost of it on the price of the car anyway!
