Waiting time on new Prado

I just ordered the Kakadu about 2 weeks ago, I got told January build, February delivery. When I asked when in February the dealer told me that it would be the March part of February. :-(

G'day all,I ordered my GX in sept for an jan delivery,but I got a phone call from my dealer in perth that it will be delayed along with other D4D engined vehicle's until at least the end of Dec because of the flooding in Thailand wiped out the factory/plant that manufactures the engine chip.

Anyone else informed of the same?.

Yeah, My dealer told me me that my VX D4D will now be a Feb Delivery instead of Jan due to the Thailand flooding.
Ordered on the 10th October...

That means delivery will be about 4 months!

These are the reasons I decided to take one that was already on the boat on it's way here rather than wait for my chosen colour. The dealer here told me that delivery dates keep getting pushed further out with all these delays.

No apology or even regret that they've let me down twice. The vehicles may be great but they need serious work on their customer relationship.

I agree 100%

My dealer has not been up front and seems to be at times dishonest. Most of the information I have got is due to talking to others and asking the dealer questions. Again, no apology. It makes you feel that they don't care about customer satisfaction, they know that they will sell the cars either way.
I work in sales and I believe customer-supplier relationships are the most important. Happy customer means repeat business. Well I can tell you that the next time I have to buy a car, I will be shopping around to other dealers!!

With the earthquake in Japan, there has been a lot of delays in getting things back on track. Last I heard was that it's at least a two month wait as just about all stock in Oz is spoken for except for a demo here or there. I work in Fremantle and saw a shipment come through about a week ago but there has been a dearth of car carrier vessels. The floods in Thailand have affected the Mitsubishi Triton and other vehicles too. Unfortunately patience is the key here... but hey, how do you explain that to someone who wants their new "toy" for Xmas... BTW Customs doesn't hold the new vehicles up..... the dealers don't pay the GST/tax until the cars enter the market.. so that should tell you about "delays".

Just ordered a graphite D4D today. 2012 build. Been told delivery will be early March delivery, so a little over 3 months. Good news is my dealer confirmed privacy glass will be included plus a different kind of stereo system with touchscreen controls which has a larger screen, also used for reverse camera etc. Sounds pretty good. Apparently plays DVD's (but isnt a GPS). Cant wait!

Just looked at one in the sci fleet yard?? suprised to see 6 Prado's in the yard, 1GXL petrol, 1 GX diesel, 1 gxl diesel demo, 1 Vx Diesel, 2 Vx petrol. The GXL definately had privacy glass on the back, no change to the stereo that i could see from the outside, looks exactly the same as the older demo. All had longer mudflaps.
