Having worked at a toyota dealer as a mechanic, (unfortunately they sold bits-a-missings aka mitsubishi) it will definitely worth waiting for the right Prado to come along. Proud of you for sticking to your guns and not listening to your pajero-driving friend. You can tell him they may be cheaper but you will always only get what you pay for. Patience will pay off for you.

Cheers Kaosad it was worth the wait. The fact it hit the lot and was sold before 10am same day with 4 more people behind me looking at it I can safely say they are well sought after.
Pajero mate is fine now I finally got something. I might even let him drive it.
It's not just the truck is great but the experience the Tojo dealer gave me was fantastic.
As for the 150 prados the outside has grown on me and I like it now but the minute I open the door and see that 1980 sigma dash I'm lost. If that's the best their designers came up with for a few million in development then major fail
Seriously you can't honestly tell me that looks classy.
Like I said nothing against the vehicle just the poxy looking dash. I'd rather have the Pajero dash so that should tell you
Either way love the Prado. King of its class

I don't mind the 150 series dash as it's 14yrs newer than my dash, but it's like that with anything new just about. They design something in such a way so it can be improved upon later with newer models. A fine example is the Nissan X-Trail which had a god awful upside down looking dash and who in their right mind put a tacho in the centre of the dash??? The tacho should be there for the driver and the driver only... Not for everyone elses benefit too. The flog off point, oh sorry, selling point, was that it allowed your peripherals to widen when you look acrosss to the left to view it, instead of taking your eyes off the road to look slightly down to the tacho. But you move your eyes further away from what's directly in front of you by viewing the tacho to the left here it's positioned and you're more blinded from what's infront of you. Why didn't they move it just a little further away again to the far L/H corner of the dash? Or even position it behind the front passenger seat? It's only a little more you've got to turn your head to see it, right? Nissan make the worst interior I have ever seen and this goes for most of their vehicles. It's like they spend the time designing every car carefully (except for the Tiida piece of crap) and 2 minutes before "go-live" of mass production they remember, "oh Sh^t! The dash. Let's slap something together quick! Oh sh^t the rest of the interior! Let's slap something together quick!" Nissan interior is an after thought. The X-Trail was easily among the worst example I saw of this yet. Then after many years of production and excuses for it at the dealership they decide to design a brand new dash with the tacho directly infront of you and use that as the selling point from that day on
Ford and Holden from mind have done this more than any other car manufacturer with the Falcon and Commodores and their spin-off variants over the years because they offer so little from the get go and need to show constant imrovement to keep selling their cars.Last edited by Brett1979; 14-04-2012, 05:32 PM.2005 120 series V6 Grande, 2 inch susp lift (King/EFS combo), 32 inch MT’s, Safari Snorkel, rear diff lock, breathers, Light Force spotlights, UHF, dual batteries.
