biggest thing is in regards to the mentioned rattles etc is that Toyota will continue to look in to ways of fixing this is you have a dealer that operates true to Toyota's spirit, i have worked for them and they always cover those types of concerns.

they are fantastic with following up their recalls and honoring their warranties.

not the prob but how they fix it is important in my book

Do you mean there are Pajero tyres and Prado tyres that are different??

Well to be honest my point on tyres is probably not applicable for 99% of people...

In standard form they have the exact same tyre size/profile, so in fact your tyre options are the same for both, and with 2" suspension lifts you're likely to have the same tyre upgrade options (32").

The only difference may come in play if you try to upgrade even further than "normal". I believe there are enough parts in the USA and Australian market to lift a 150 higher than 2", possibly allowing 33" tyres (I don't think anyone on PP has done it yet though?). A Pajero has IRS and no chassis, so lifting beyond 2" for the purpose of 33's is going to be harder (and hardly worthwhile).

You can acquire a 4" suspension lift/drop kit out of Japan for the IFS/IRS Pajero, at about $6k seems hardly worth it to get 33" tyres

Yeah I've seen that Pajero lift kit mentioned elsewhere, but like you say it's too much coin for 33's... and you'd still be limited by IRS... and good luck having it engineering it in Aus!

In QLD both 32 and 33" tyres over the original 31" (265/65/17) tyre are illegal and can't be engineered so kind of meaningless either way

Meaningless for yourself perhaps! I'm from NSW where 33's are (were?) possible with engineering, and the original poster is from VIC where I've *heard* it's possible to engineer large tyres.

Yes in Victoria 50mm larger tyres are legal with out requiring an engineers report.

This would then make 33's legal if you could get them on.

                  Same with 50mm lift
