we just purchased our GXL turbo diesel , auto , in November 2012. No kms and white. We shopped for 3 months solid and found the bottom price was clearly $59,000 drive away (plus tank of fuel - which is 150 litres!) in Nov. they all stopped at this price as if it were a set cost price. Most dealers Oz wide wouldnt go under $60K at the time. The best prices ($59K) were at Bathurst and Wodonga toyota. We ended up going with Jacobs in Wodonga (equal best price) and closest to our town. They have been brilliant to deal with.
people speak of toyota dealers going $5K to $10K lower to make a sale, but in our experience the Prado is a sort after vehicle and they know they will move them fairly easily, so the price did not drop much during haggle time(at least that was the perception with the many dealers)
What is the best price in perth for a gxl d4d
Auto
I got mine for 64k on road a couple of years ago, which included a few extras. I couldn't get anywhere near some of the eastern state prices quoted on this forum and bringing one over wasn't going to save much.

2010 Silver GXL Prado 150, D4D Auto, with a few non standard bits
Bought a D4D GXL last month (January) & pick up after a week. Demo model 1K on the odo. Add nudge bar, tow ball, and internal & external finishing (include tint), headlight. Original bonnet protector and driver windshield, rubber matt for the boot area ..... all for $66K.
Just got a 2013 VX D4D for $73k ..no extras I will get them later to avoid the LCT.
Now I have to wait 4 weeks.
Hey Gibbo. How do avoid the LCT at $73 when it comes in at close to $59K. I just looked up the ATO's guide to LCT & excerpt as follows:
"The LCT threshold is $59,133 for the 2012-13 financial year.
The LCT threshold for fuel-efficient cars is $75,375 for the 2012-13 financial year. For LCT purposes, fuel-efficient cars are cars that have a fuel consumption of seven litres per 100 kilometres or less."
As far as I can follow, the Prado can't be classified as a fuel efficient vehicle because its consumption is at best 8.5/100.
We started looking at the GXL but after reading heaps of reviews, posts etc thought the $5K extra on an Altitude would suit us better. All dealers we spoke to were vague or clueless on when they would be offered but possibly in time for EOFY. My wife thinks that would be too long to wait especially as I have read posts on current 2013 build/plate purchases being several months wait before delivery.
Now we are considering pushing the budget to stretch to a VX with tow-bar, as close to $70K drive away.
Of course extra stuff like full tanks of fuel, mats throughout, roof racks etc would be a nice bonus
Anyone have any luck with their recent purchase?
Did anyone purchase an Altitude last year & found they could work a great price reduction or was it too hard on a limited edition (GXL) model?

The reason that Gibbo didn't get the accessories was whilst the 73k incl some lct getting accessories with the vehicle will also attract the 33% lct so bar 2500 would of cost approx 3300 if added at dealer as part of sale but could be added after sale for 2500
Yes there was hawing-edward, the 90 had a face lift in 99 (clear blinker lights was one thing amongst a few other things) the 120 had 3 face lifts, one was the 5 speed auto in 04 then the introduction of dual air standard in 07 in the gxl among a few other things like roof rails etc then in 08 privacy glass was standard in the rear cargo and rear doors, some thing the 150 gxl doesn't have so among the 90's & 120's there was some changes........
