I sold my car this morning and went in to sign up for a new 2014 GXL. My partner came along to decide on the colour and has now decided maybe we should go for the VX. I'm not sure if it is worth the extra money and having to pay LCT whereas I don't have to pay anything on the GXL. What are your thoughts should I stick with the GXL or upgrade to the VX

2014 - GXL or VX
Sounds like us, went to but the GXL and ended up in a VX. The KDSS, head lights, leather seats etc was the selling point for both of us. Cost us an extra 11K to get the VX when we bought ours.
We did want the Kakadu but at that stage the suspension upgrades was a concern for us. Still had a heap of issues levelling the KDSS once we upgraded it.
Great car either way you go, depends on your budget at the end of the day.

If you don't want KDSS or leather than the GXL is the way to go.
And yes as you say at the end of the day it depends on your budget.
ETA: The VX does have a few extra bells & whistles other than KDSS & leather, here's a comparo :-

If I had my time again, I would go the VX again over the GXL. We have been tempted to buy the 2014 to the point that the local dealer is ready to do the deal. Issues are, I have done so much to ours and it has such low K's and way to many toys on it for me to part with just yet. I am thinking that it will be the next facelift that we will change (or when Toyota bring out the Fortuna...)-----------------------

By the time we upgrade, we'll probably go for the VX as SWMBO and I have crook backs and find the seats in the GXL not supportive or comfortable for all day drives, whereas the VX and Kakadu have electric seats.Cheers, Brad

You might want to wait 2-3 years for the next one. I'd imagine the successor to the 150 will come in 2016/17 judging from the run of the 120 which went on for 6 years. The 120 didn't get a facelift. So the facelifted 150 may get a run of 4 years.

While I love auto window wipers, they require an expensive windscreen. And my 90 series - which I bought new - has had quite few windscreens. So while I think the hydro-pneumatic suspension in the upper Landcruisers ride amazingly, and I presume the Kakadu gets a similar hydraulic system and hence a great ride, and even the VX gets a better ride due to KDSS, I wish they'd develop a light sensor technology that was in the vehicle rather than in the windscreen.
It seems to me too, that a lot of the extras in the upper models are for those behind the two people in the front, which is no longer a need of mine.
