Best dealer in Adelaide for GXL

Hi Guys,

I've got identical quotes from CMI and Peter Kittle for a 2015 build GXL Auto Diesel, does anyone have any good or bad experiences with either of them. In Short who should I buy from :-)

I bought from northpoint they were good to deal with, got better price than peter kittle

I bought both my Prado's new from CMI, very happy with both purchases and if in the market for a new Toyota they would be my first port of call.

Peter Kittle in Alice Springs did the 10k service on my first Prado, well they charged me for it anyway, all evidence points to the fact that they didn't actually service it. I also bought our Rav from Kittles in Adelaide, low mileage second hand. I got screwed over on that deal with accessories that were on the vehicle when we did the deal being removed before collection. My mrs collected it and didn't notice, when I questioned them they basically told me to get stuffed.

I wouldn't buy the time of day from Peter Kittle if they were last Toyota dealer on Earth.

If you are spending that much money you are going to want to get it dealer serviced for a few years. Sales and Aftersales are miles apart! SAles promise the earth and the poor guys in service then have to deliver the impossible. You might want to look at who will lend you a car etc.... Unless you really are in Sri Lanka?

I picked up my new GXL on the 31/12/14. They explained to me that as of the 1/1/15, Toyota were restructuring the way they do business in that all dealers would give you the same price (abit like Apple). The cars in stock no longer belong to specific dealers but rather belong to a pool which any Toyota dealer can pull from. Dont know if this is the case or not yet but that's what they told me.

Hi Andrew,

Yes I am Sri Lankan, and migrating with my family in April this year. I have a150 over here (petrol 2.8 liter totally under powered and also had a 120 before that as per my profile pic) looking to catch up with fellow PP's in Adelaide soon.

Bought the 150 from Kittles, but get it serviced at CMI. I know people at both, and both are good, and it just happened that Kittles had the right car at the right time otherwise I would have ended up at CMI.
Much of a muchness, so either way you should get reasonable service and a bit of a deal, but at the end of the day there is only one person that wins in the transaction!

I've never dealt with CMI, but have had dealings with Peter Kittle and Northpoint. Northpoint were excellent when we bought a new Rav4 and the service dept. has a courtesy bus. Peter Kittle on the other hand were shockers. We bought a 2nd hand Xtrail and got shafted. There were identical cars in the yard and I was very specific which one I wanted as one had scratches down the side and one was unmarked. I took note of the number plate of the undamaged one to make sure it was the one we got. On pickup day, the only car on the lot was the damaged vehicle. The sales guy and manager swore blind that we got the vehicle we requested. It took a lot of arguing for them to agree to no cost repairs. Needless to say, I won't be going back there

I would recommend CMI at Adelaide CBD (West Tce.). From my personal experience the best sales person is Nathan B.
I have bought 2 new cars for myself and my wife, very happy with the service.

Note: stay away from CMI at Southside of Adelaide (Christies beach), they are using "pushing" tactics and will try to get your sign a contract as soon as you walk in...

When we were looking for our first Prado in 2005 I was thinking second hand, one Toyota dealer in Adelaide who no longer exists let us test drive a second hand Prado whilst they took our Rodeo for a drive to value it as a trade. They then wanted to strike a deal and basically wouldn't give us our car keys back until we signed a contract. In the end it was almost getting nasty, fortunately I am fairly tall and had to basically stand over the salesman and intimidate him physically just to get the keys to our own car back.

It wouldn't have mattered what price they offered, they never would have got my business after that.

We ended up at CMI, had a casual conversation with a salesman who simply offered us a deal on a brand new Prado and said let us know if your interested. We signed the deal and paid the deposit before we left

I am still waiting for our local Toyota dealer to get back to me with a price from 2005 In 2009 when we upgraded to the current Prado the changeover price was 10 grand less CMI compared to locally, we didn't even haggle with CMI, their first offer was so much better than we had hoped!
