Re: Pealing-Off New Prado's in Dubai

    V6 - 4.5 L - 280 HP Engine :shock
280hp = 210kw.... not exactly a massive increase over the current and dated 180kw engine.... I would have liked to have seen a little more than that in a all new model.

I'll be sticking to my old Prado for quite a while. I don't really like the look of this new Prado, it's just as unpleasant to look at as the LC200 and the Kluger.

I recall the 120 series copping a bit of flack whenit first came out! Don't know if it was a gay puss box though

Alot of comments that won't be buying one if it looks like that and sticking with the 120. To me it looks to much like the 120 don't think they have put much thought into it. I thought they might has done something different, but like I said looks too much like the 120 to me, just stuck the number plate assembly back on again same as 90 & 120 time to go. Not bagging the look of the 120 but needs more of a fresh look, just my 2cents.

Looks strange...like a Rav4 on steroids. The front closely resembles the 1998 Lexus RX300.

Im sure the toyota dealers will have vomit bags for those who dont like them like me. Sure will be a challenge for ARB, Kaymar and other companies to make offroad products for this model if they will bother too. Imagine making a replacement rear bar for it with tiwn tyre carriers, they would use half a fibreglass dingy worth of glass to fill in the big gap. Those sidesteps will be the first item to get ripped off. And I thought the 120 was ugly when it first came out, OMG.

Re: Pealing-Off New Prado's in Dubai

Australian release remains November. That means it will probably hit the dealers in December but the vehicle will be in Australia in August. As for final configuration on a model by model bases that is completed at end of July but the options and technology mix is already done and dusted.

Model range has a surprise in it, subject to some final issues with Australian compliance testing

180l is not confirmed as yet given the way the rear seats fold down in the new model as they go below the floor as per Pajero and Disco3

Whilst the photo's are accurate they do not represent the Australian specs, particularly the underslung rear wheel which is for other markets

                          Regards

The rear end (dare I say now  ) does appear to be a problem with those integrated quarters. The concern is I hope it does not become to much of a "soft roader" and start to slip out of from a more traditional manly man 4wd :|

While it's not my cup of tea, I don't see the issue with the rear bar. Surely they'll just do a cut and clip jobbie like they do with some styles of bull bar....

Think I'll be keeping the 120... or if I can convice the wife... 70 Series once the ABS/Airbag are available with the next upgrade (soon I hear)
