I got my 2009 120 through Big Rock. It was a lease vehicle so I had no choice but I had no complaints. I get my service done at Scarborough Toyota and they do a good job, always follow up a couple of days later and ask if service experience is OK.

G'day all its probably been a couple of years since my last post but i am now trading up from my 2007GXL to a new one. My question is can anybody recommend a Toyo dealer in Perth (or surrounds) that they have had a good experience with. By experience i mean does what they say there going to do and is also willing to do a fair price and trade. My last dealer was a western Sydney dealer and they were as shady as, don't want to get into to much here coz police are investigating. So would be very grateful for a recommendation, do not want to repeat my Sydney experience. Great forum guys nice to see regulars still posting after all these years.

Depends on where abouts in Perth and how far you are prepared to travel, if on the southside, I had good dealings with Mandurah Toyota a few years ago when I lived there and would definatley go back, rang around Perth to find the best deal then called in to Mandurah Toyota to see if they could match it which they did - said they wanted to look after people from down that way and not let them do business with Perth dealers.

I second this, ask for Scott Utting if you give them a call I got my 120 there late 2008. A friend of mine who had tried his local dealer (which he got his last Prado off) went down there on my recommendation and was very happy. Six day delivery on a 150 D4d Auto (white) GXL.

I too can highly recommend Mandurah Toyota they where a pleasure to deal with and the sales girl actually new answers to all of the questions we had. They even offered to drive the vehicle to me once it was ready for delivery. Not a bad word to say about them. I too am a very satisfied customer.

Interesting that Jordon from Suttons mentions Mosman Toyota.

We went up there a 5 weeks ago with a view to buying on the day, we were in our heading to the garden centre clothes, and maybe this put them off a bit (given it's Mosman - even if none of the sales people live locally), but they didn't get back to me straight away with a trade price on my old car... and then didn't call with a trade price as promised. Plain odd.

Anyway, I'm a bit time poor with a young family, so the next time I had a spare moment I popped up to my other local dealer and traded my car and bought my new one, no fuss all down within an hour.

Don't even want to mention pricing - my deal was a fair bit below retail (as per the toyota website) but not as good as the better connected amongst you seem to have got... but once you've done it who cares about what others paid.

Just placed my order for a Black SX with ARB Delux bar and tow bar, $54K drive away.

Not the colour I wanted but they were really looking to move it and for that price I was willing to comprimise.

Hi guys,
Just did the same and after years of consideration finally got the "treasurer" of the family to agree to invest in a proper 4WD. So in mid Sept10 will be picking up my new Prado 150 GXL 3.0Lt Auto Turbo Diesel.

As I am a complete novice (yes I have a Honda CRV but that isn't a proper 4WD) would appreciate your advice.

Like you, am looking to put some accessories on:
*Deluxe Bull bar
*Tow Bar
*Snorkel
*Dual Battery
*Undercarriage protection

Is there any difference between ARB & TJM?

Am new here & think this is brilliant!

Just took the plunge and bought a Prado GXL 3.0lt Turbo Diesel 7Seater in Silver Pearl + Headlamp Proectors + Rubber Mats + Anti Rust Device** with lifetime warranty (I think I got conned here.. see sub note below) + 6 year 150K extended Toyota factory warranty for $66,990 drive away with 12 months rego in Perth WA

Reading the other posts I am almost certain that buying a vehicle in WA costs more due to the local state stamp duty. Just wondering if it would have been cheaper to buy in another state then ship the vehicle over.

Had kept the accessories to a minimum as I would have had to pay luxury tax on everything!??

Hope this will help some of you.

** Was told after I had purchased that I would have to spend $100 a year on an annual inspection to make sure that the anti rust negative ion unit was working properly in order for the lifetime warranty to be valid. So buyer beware. Will try to update annually if this anti rust device actually works

I can't speak from experience on what the bull bars are like, but from what i understand, the ARB bars require cutting of the front bumper and in some instances there has been some rubbing between the bar and the bumper which scuffs the paint. The TJM bars are a bumper replacement but i don't know if there are any issues with them. I reckon they both look great though.

hi, just let you know i was in process of buying a VX 150 petrol in graphite colour in brisbane, it has 150klm on the clock as a demo and it is driveaway for $65,990.. not a bad price , but things have changed, if ur after a brand new VX i reckon this would be the one to get, it's on carpoint and it is on the lot waiting for an owner, where i am from they are going for $80k driveaway.. so grab a bargain..

It certainly is cheaper to buy interstate if you live in WA. I just purchased a demo Graphite Kakadu Petrol in Victoria for $67,390. It cost me $1200 to transport back to Perth plus $5,000 for stamp duty and rego for 12 months. Total cost, drive away $73,590, which is around $9,000 cheaper than buying an identical vehicle locally. I wonder when local dealers are going to realise they can't compete with using the internet?

Very true, for the more expensive luxury vehicles it is better to get them from the East Coast. Not only is the stamp duty lower than what the WA Government is slugging us but with more competition the price is more relaistic as well!

Whilst stamp duty is less in the other states you must pay WA stamp duty when you bring a vehicle into the state and register it. The upside is the interstate dealer reduces his price by the local stamp duty so you buy it excluding on-road costs. The dealer I purchased from took off 4% but I had to pay 6.5% when I registered here. The good news is that at a saving of around $9,000 it is worth a little effort.

This is what I have found... decided to go against the VX and beef up the GXL instead.

GXL Diesel Auto (silver), drive away - $61000. This was over the PHONE!!!

Tyres - Bob Jane have D694 on special, will do 5 changeover for $695!! That is a GREAT price. And they are the LT version 265/17/65
Leather seats - after market - $3000 - better leather than the one used on the VX, and also getting the door trims leather as well.
Cargo Barrier - using Auto Safe - same AS Standards as Milford - $545 fitted
Hayman Reese Towbar - $550 fitted.
Thule (100kg rating) cross racks - $270 - fit myself.
OME Lift (Nitro Sports) - $1600

Then throw in my current ARB compressor, Kenwood DVD stereo hooked up to reverse camera, rear head rest monitors (DVD) and should be sorted!

Anything else I should consider getting thrown if from Toyota??

try and get a rubber mat boot liner as well as the window tint, bonnet/headlight protectors along with the full carpet mats, most dealers seem to throw these in the deal.
