  • Re: pricing for the 150

Geez, all this chatter about everyone picking up their new 150's is making life hell!!

I was going to try and wait until after Easter to start wheeling & dealing, but you guys are making life tough - I'm getting very impatient now

Yeah fingers crossed - I've been looking at Prado's for about 3 years now and held off for a variety of reasons. Finally bit the bullet. Tracking system is a bit of a novelty .. it'd be better if the vehicle got an RFID tag and was geographically tracked down to its progression along the production line. Although I suspect that some customers may be more inclined to favour particular assembly plants / locations (for good reason)... so less information.

I'm not greedy - 2 weeks early would be ideal - I could clock up my 1 month service before I go.

On a side note, I'm trawling through the house to offload unwanted items as a means to justify buying more stuff for the car... I have 7~ weeks to convert random stuff in to cash! A mission to keep my mind off the car. Eg. one treadmill gone, hilift jack and shovel fitted to roofrack! Fiscal responsibility.. haha

          Hi,

Just picked up a 2011 build black GXL D4D Auto with towbar for $59000 on a novated lease. I think with a novated lease you get a fleet price which means Toyota gives the dealer $1200 back which is past onto the buyer. I had a hard time to get them down to this price. Only one dealer in the Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong area would come to the party. The most expensive quote I got was $64000. What a joke. They were all using the excuse that they will be hard to get now because of what happened in Japan but I think this is BS.

          Regards Andy

Ultimately for fleet pricing, they look up a database to see if your employer or fleet provider are entitled to particular pricing. I got fleet pricing based on my employer but didn't get a novated lease

That is the same as me, my "Dealer Discount" was $5400. The lease price of the car was $57093. Then I put the extras on. Took it to about $63500. I gave the dealer a $10,000 contribution (because I got a great price for my 120 GXL) and now the lease payments are the same as the 120!!! Couldn't be happier!!

                    • Our new VX diesel auto cost us $72.5 K march 2011
We pushed for a while to get this, v happy.

Mav, so far the best tank i have averaged commuting up and down the mountain, traffic etc is 7.7, 8.3 usually with shopping etc.
On a flat smooth road it is in the mid 6's but i couldn't sustain that as traffic etc causes it to increase.

                      happy prado

                      • Hey guys,
Finally looking at upgrading my current model Hilux to a new prado 150. Can i get opinions on a Silver GXL D4D Manual for $59500 (not leased). I am guessing this is a pretty good price, anyone know if anyone else can do cheaper? Not looking at extras as i am doing the aftermarket mods in own time.

                        Cheers
                        Todd

                        • Not sure how supplies (tsunami) may have impacted on price, but based on situation in March/April (when I bought mine), you should be able to get it down to around 58k (Melbourne)

                          • Todd, I got close to that for the Auto, there is a $2500ish difference between manual and auto so you should be able to do better than that. And yes that was GXL, white, auto 12 mth rego, driveaway not leased. Don't sell your Hilux too quickly, they take at least 3 mths for delivery.

                            Good luck.

                            • Barnesworth, Bruggie thanx for your post, I was told if i order in the next 6 weeks i should be getting it around Feb when i want it. Not selling lux too quickly but its just sitting in the garage while i am away. I am going to hit them up for 58K. I think that is reasonable considering how well they are selling. Will let you all know how i go. Anymore opinions please dont be shy.

                              Cheers Guys

                              • Picked up my 2011 Complianced Prado GXL 150 D4D Auto in Silver from a dealer on brisbane northside for $60 500 at end of February including headlight/bonnnet protectors, rubber floormats, cargo and full tank diesel. No fleet discounts just a retail buy. I shopped around heaps and this was the best that I could find. Now to add all the accessories.
