We ordered our D4D in early June and were told it would probably be 9 months (feb 09 delivery). We have just found out that it is in production this month and are expecting delivery in 6 weeks time (1st Oct at the latest apparently). Much happier with that.Comment

I ordered a D4D GXL with Option pack 1 and it took 5 1/2 months to handover.
I am down at the snow at the moment and got my first service done at the Toyo dealer at Cooma and there is a white GXL D4D and a silver GXL D4D sitting in the yard :shock:

One more sleep..... After 8 months wait, cancelling the order 4 weeks ago, placing another order (with the same dealer, just changed color and trans to auto) and its here!!! Will get my first drive of a Prado tomorrow! Will post some photos soon.Delivered: 20 August 08. Charcoal Grey. GXL D4D Auto. Option Pack 1. Just giving all those out there who are still waiting on their Prado the big heads up....
I was advised last wednesday that my Prado would be arriving at the dealership this friday the 22nd so I organised to go in there and do the paperwork on Saturday so on Monday or Tuesday when the car is all registered and ready to go I could just go pick it up and not have to worry about all the paperwork. Well my partner and I got there on Saturday as planned.... the sales guy first said to us "Got some bad news for you.... the prado hasnt arrived yet and will be getting here on Tuesday the 26th" we werent happy at all as he could have rang to advise us that it hadnt showed up and also because I had just sold my car the day before ready to receive the prado.... and then he had some more bad news for us :shock: They were going to try charge us another $500 because the price of the Prado has now gone up. We argued with him and said that we signed a contract with a certain price 2 months ago so we are definetly not paying an extra $500 because their prices had now gone up.... well he spoke to his manager and they are not going to charge us for the $500 extra So I thought I would play them for as much more as I could get seeing that they have now stuffed me around and I have no car until my prado eventually arrives so they ended up giving me a loan car (for free) until my prado arrives next week sometime
So if you are picking up your Prado and they try wack another $500 on the price, tell them to jamb it where the sun dont shine because they cant expect people to just cop it on the chin even after a price has been agreed! :xComment

Nice work BPC.
I reckon they only need their con to work on 30% of their customers and they've made a fortune. Its good to see someone standing up to them and telling them where to stick it.
BTW ... remind me never to argue with you :lol: :lol: :lol:

Your story doesn't surprise me in the least BPC.
There were issues with mine on pickup too. Basically they'd "forgotten" the clear coat paint protection. Took it back a week later to have it done. They did give me a loan car though...... to their credit. Came back the next night to pick it up at the pre-arranged time and they looked surprised to see me. Prado nowhere in sight. Locked in the workshop across town. "Where was my phone call??" I ask. They had no answer.
I really got the impression that evening that they just didn't give a damn.

What do you know...... My Prado was meant to arrive at the dealership today, so I just called them to see where it is and they've said it wont be in until tomorrow now :evil: Toyota Dealerships are so frustrating!!!!Comment

Dont worry it will be worth the wait, just do a few more trips in the loan car.

Its only a Mazda Tribute, a V6 one. But it uses so much fuel for some reason. I have done 180kms and gone thru half a tank. Which is 30 litres! :?Originally posted by Pradogxlv6

I have just taken delivery of my new silver diesel auto, it took 2 weeks from order, including fitting of a colour coded arb winch bar.
I bought this from grand toyota perth, they had a few to choose from.Comment
