My jeep was the same Build date one year, compliance plate another year, build date was on the passenger door it happen to disappear before i sold it, must have been when they replaced the door??, so they went by the compliance plate.Originally posted by ntpryce[b]Rob[/b]

Just received an email from the Dealer advising that my new D4D has arrived at the dealership !!
Should have it by Friday next week !! 8)

Yeah, problems with dealers. I felt that pain too. I also suffered a few delays when I was waiting for mine. You'd think at the moment there shouldn't be too many delays at all with the current world downturn. Toyota are even having trouble shifting stocks in Japan if you believe the stories you read. I truly think there is more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye when it comes to ordering cars. One may be ordered for you and be shipped. But then, your dealer, or another dealer, needs "your Prado" to fix a situation with another customer. Or, your dealer gets a chump through it's doors who pays way more than they should have, and much more than you paid. So the chump gets your Prado and you have to wait. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was some kind of unwritten understanding amongst dealers that each "standard price" customer is up for at least one "vehicle loss" if a better prospect walks through the door. If you stop and think about it, it makes perfect business sense. They sell "your Prado" once, maybe twice from underneath you because they can get more for it, or it's used to compensate another angry customer. Hi Folks
Iron-Paww is right!! Buying a GXL D4D auto and I went to three dealers for quotes and availability. (9th April) All the dealers were about the same price but the local dealer rang me to tell me that he had a stock one in my colour on the water. He got the order, and told me delivery would be 1st week in May. Called him today to check as I am leasing and are getting some ARB extras added so that I could co-ordinate the delivery.
Guess what he now tells me that Telstra are a priority customer and have that car (he had supplied VIN and engine numbers) and that he is now looking for another on the list from Japan and can't tell me when, not even a month more or less a date. It's almost enough to drive you to a Pajero!! I'll keep you all informed of the next lie I get from him.

The "Saga" continues...
The dealer has told me the 24th/25th May now, so the lease company calls the dealer for the VIN and Engine numbers to get the paperwork done, and he tells them that this is not confirmed now and that it could slip later than that.
Where does that leave me, ARB still can't book the car in for the accessories, I'm delayed yet again to get the car ready for the August outback trip and the current car coming off lease.
Lucky I still have the old faithful 90 series as I may have to use that in August!!

Im having some frustrations myself. Ive been shopping around for quotes for a white GXL D4D auto with a few accessories. Group emails to Toyota dealerships asking for a quote turned up very little interest, so I started ringing around and walking into dealerships where Ive been told a few times that white D4Ds are hard to come by and id have to be prepared to wait some time if I ordered one. At this stage not only are the dealerships not interested in negotiating below $60k but it appears there is a slow down on the number of Prados coming into the country. Short of the odd white D4D sitting in the lot, good luck getting a new D4D - especially a white one - anytime quickly!Croozer

After many months I finally took delivery of new Dune coloured GXL petrol Prado yesterday afternoon. Now for a run over the long W/E to try it out
