Well the wait is nearly over now. Ordered our Prado on 17th July and my wife will take delivery on 23rd October. Just spoken to the dealer and he has confirmed the date. What a bugger 4 days after I leave for work
I will arrange a photo of our new arrival once it is safely on our driveway.

Good question Plucker, was thinking of stealing the ideas from here and mounting it in the inside of the drivers footwell, with the remote head under the ash tray... but am at least another couple of weeks away from actually doing it.

hey all, I got my finance papers through today, they contacted the dealer to get the vehicle details etc. On the papers is a VIN, Engine number and rego number etc. How would they have these if the car is still a couple of weeks away from its scheduled (estimated) delivery date? I am guessing they would be looking on their ordering system or something right? If that is the case then surely (no Shirley jokes) they should be able to give me a fixed delivery date? I have had it up to my eyeballs waiting!
At least I know what my rego will be.. now I can photoshop that on to one of the Silver VX pics I have and pretend for a while ;-)

I asked for access way back when and after calling them 3 times and getting the fob off excuse that "we are trying" I gave up. As I've said before though, I think I would be driven mad watching it progress slowly!
Only a week and a half until the estimated delivery date.. I think I will have to give them another call tomorrow.. sure would like it for our QLD holidays.PhilComment

Well I had a call from my dealer today who informed me that my new VX Prado will be arriving at the yard on Tuesday.
So I have confirmed a 03 Nov pick up which allows all the extras to be fitted, some will be done by thrid party vendors so 10 days should be ample time for them to complete the jobs.
I am going to stipulate that the car is not to be used for test drives for other customers, mainly because if something were to happen on a test drive, for instance a crash, it would throw a major spanner in the works for me time wise. Obviously I would not take the car for one thing but the wait for another Prado would be intolerable at this stage.
I wil be staying overnight in Adelaide and then driving back up to Alice on the Sunday, taking some photos along the way at some of the better photo stops like Lake Hart.
