    Prado Delivery delay

    I ordereda white Prado 12th Sept 2007. Have been advised that delivery will not be before late February 2008!!!

      The wind has been taken from my sails. :cry:

      I have an email that states "delivery is confirmed for late Jan, early Feb".

      Since I am about to go away 'till the end of Jan, I figured I will call to confirm and check on a few things. The news was unexpected... the delivery date has been pushed out to mid-late March :!: WTF does "confirmed" even mean these days. :?: :?:

      That changes a few of my plans and there's nuthin' I can do about it; but wait. By the time this beast arrives, I will have forgotten all about it.

        delivery times

        Lucky you Rob, Enjoy..I got call from Dealer yesterday arvo, my GXL D4D will arrive at dealership on 21st of this month, ordered early Nov.
        Just have to T it up with ARB to fit the Goodies b4 delivery

          Gee there is a lot of difference from dealer to dealer
          I ordered mine mid september and I have had it for a couple of weeks now !
          December 2007 Prado GXL diesel, Option Pack with traction control, rear airconditioning and curtain airbags. Lovells Springs and Bilstiens shocks, snorkel, front recovery points,

            Hi guys,

            I must say I was damn lucky then. I ordered my Prado GXL D4D on the 24th of August 07 (new Spec) and took delivery 25th of September 07. through Downtown Toyota in Morningside, Brisbane......

              I ordered mine in early December and have been informed that delivery will be approx the end of January. My dealer had an allocation for January so I managed to pin one of those down. Seems christmas will have delayed the delivery. If I wanted to put on any options I probably wouldn't have seen it until March.
              Expected Jan 31 07 D4D GXL PRADO 5spd auto Silver Ash with headlight protectors, factory towbar, polished sovereign Bullbar, Lightforce 240 lights, Thule roof bars.

                A question for those using the Toyota tracking system.
                I just received my login details 2 days ago and my vehicle shows "on order" duh!
                How long has it taken others to have a production date set and updated?

                  Hi Richo - I ordered the Prado exactly one month ago (11 Dec 07) and I am still waiting for the tracking system details. All I have is the batch number that the dealer told me over the phone.
                  I will have to send him another email to get the tracking details because I will be checking daily - just like I do on Pradopoint :lol: :lol: :lol:.

                  My Prado is expected mid March so I think that you got a good deal picking it up earlier than most others.8)8)

                    It's sad but I am actually trading my Prado for a new Landcruiser 200 - yeah I know !!!
                    I placed the order on 24/12/07 and only just got the tracking details.

                    I don't suppose it makes much difference as I think the popularity is about the same for both the Prado and the Cruiser. That's why I asked the question.

                      Just received a phone call today from my dealer. I have now been informed that instead of my Prado being delivered in March, it will be BUILT in March. This is after initially being told delivery before Christmas, then delivery before Easter. It works out that it should hopefully be delivered mid-June.

                      That is a fraction off of being 10 months after signing for it. FAR FROM ACCEPTABLE!

                      This bloody car better be worth it.....

                          However, I am 100% sure that NSW would have a much larger assignment of D4D Prado's (or any car for that matter) than sleepy old Adelaide.

                            Ordered in early Sept with a December built and January compliance.
                            Check late November "Yes you will have it late January for sure"
                            Check late December now its a January built and mid to late February compliance.
                            Very frustrating.

                              I'd be happy with that mate. You now have a 2008 model which will be worth more in the long run. The long wait I wouldn't be happy about but those extra 4 weeks are worth the extra $$$$ in value later. Even though your original compliance date was 2008 it is the build date that the dealers go by. They will tell you otherwise but try that at trade in time!

                              For example a 2005 GXL Auto Diesel is worth 43,900 on redbook and a 2004 September build same spec is worth 41,900.

                              So to have a build of 2008 instead of 2007 is worth it IMHO

                                Hang i there ABD i went through the same thing and yes the car will definatly be worth it, ive hardly been out of mine since i got it at xmas.
                                After my ordeal i think the problem lies with the state Toyota distributor and not the dealer.
