    Movement at the station

    After weeks of waiting the tracking system now says our VX ordered December '07 is to be built in Feb 2008. Maybe a March delivery could happen A great relief we shouldnt have a 10 month wait.
    Prado VX D4D: Toyo Bars, IPF Spots, Cargo Barrier, GME 3440 UHF, recovery points, Ozicozi coat, Cooper STs. ATS suspension, Airtec snorkel, dual battery, Maxtraxs, Ultimate camper trailer.

      Mine is also showing Feb 2008 production. I assume they make hundreds of them a day, so I hope it's early Feb Build??..... The wait continues...............

          After waiting since Oct 07 Toyota tracking now states planned production Feb 08....... Can anyone advise how long the wait is once they go in production to delivery to Melb. I seem to remember reading on this site approx 6 weeks is the go. Hopefully will arrive in time for easter camping trip. thanks

            I logged onto Toyota "Track your new Toyota" only this morning after many attempts of showing "to be scheduled" it finally shows February 2008 build. I trust that it will be delivered as promised in Mid March. So its looking OK at this point.

            I have also been informed that it takes approx 6 weeks from production to your door step. What about others who have them on order?

              I have to admit that I have been lucky in not having to wait long for my D4D to be delivered. I ordered mine on the 12 December and I have been informed by my dealer today that the vehicle will arrive tomorrow. Now I only have to wait a week before I can get it!!!
              Expected Jan 31 07 D4D GXL PRADO 5spd auto Silver Ash with headlight protectors, factory towbar, polished sovereign Bullbar, Lightforce 240 lights, Thule roof bars.

                I ordered mine on 11 Dec, and the normal wait is now around 3 months. You have done exceptionally well. Congrats.

                Bet you wont sleep a wink for the next week or so.

                  I will be very interested to hear what dates are on the compliance plates.
                  I have been told different stories by the same dealer.
                  Because I want an 08 compliance plate they now say it has to be manufactured on 08. But their story when ordered was a Dec 07 manufacture and Jan 08 compliance plate fitted in Oz.

                    Talking with the Rep from my leasing company the other day and it is not a case of keeping cars for the big orders.

                    He said the some of the mining compnies were now looking to buy low K's second hand Prados as they can not get any new ones from Toyota.

                      The Dealer rang today ... new D4D Prado ready for pick up next Thursday.

                      Prado ordered 30th Nov last year. Dec build. Luckily the dealership had 1x Charcoal D4D GXL Auto on order which they swapped with another dealer for a Manual GXL.

                      Sad time as well though, have to retire the old girl ... :cry:


                      Have thought about driving her into the ocean and setting her alight ... viking funeral style, or a burial at sea and create an artificial reef. Don't think the greenies would approve...

                          Saw a 1/08 plated auto D4D GXL at Clintons Narellan today.
                          Did not have option pack 1. :cry:
                          Is there only one compliance plate on Prados?
                          Will have another talk with Moss Vale Toyota tomorrow :evil:

                            I'm in a similar boat larry. Ordered mine on 25th Nov and it arrived last week! Is a December build (mid month) with 2nd of January 08 compliance.

                              Just got told today that my promise of a Feb Build Mrch delivery has now been pushed to march-april, probably May delivery.

                              I am quite disapointed as I was hoping for an Easter get away.

                              I have been on carsales.com and found a few that match or better my spec around. I am now contemplating going the whole hog and getting a Grande, which I can have in a week or so.

                              Anyways, we'll see what happens.

                                Toyota tracking just today confirmed that my Option Pack 1 GXL has been scheduled for production in February - has yours been scheduled yet? Why so long from scheduled production to delivery?

                                I have not had any advice from the dealer to inform me of a longer wait so far (crossing my fingers). They are sticking with mid March 08 delivery. I am expecting a longer wait if PPers experience is anything to go by.

                                Go get the Grande - you wont be disappointed.
