I got a phone call from my dealer today with info that I will be picking up the PRADO on the 20 March. Just in time for the trip to Canberra for the Easter Break - Just to be on the safe side, I will not pack my current car, but instead have everything ready on the garage floor for quick packing when the Prado arrives in my driveway.

Xing my fingers very tightly - only 6 weeks to go. Yippee!

More bad news for delays in WA.

Advised at Sales Meeting... without getting into numbers.

WA dealers have pre-sold enough units, that the entire monthly allocation for WA will take 5 months to fill all the orders. ie a 6 month wait if you ordered one tomorrow unless someone cancels an order...

Bugger.

So maybe next time your sales guy gives you the bad news of further delays from Toyota - you might not give him/her such a hard time as it is nearly always outside of our control.

Yep that's the same information I got from Toyota Australia, 6mths wait for a D4D in WA.

My gripe is the dealers tell you it is only 3 months or less, I think they need to start with Honesty is the best policy then they would not have so many unhappy customers.. :evil:

Delivery Times

Just had a call from local Toyota Dealer telling me my GXL D4D will be available in April. Lets hope thats 08 and not 09! Fingers crossed.
Does anybody know how close to delivery, Toyota are able to provide web tracking details?

you should have it already, i got mine within two weeks of ordering it, speak to the cutomer service manager who inputs the information and gives you the log on numbers and password. They didnt offer the information up i actually had to ask for it.. cheers you will be impressed with the new specs, i picked up my 2008 prado yesterday very happy indeed

yes, i noticed a few different options included in the car compared to the 07 build which i test drove in aug last year, ducted air, dual front climate control etc

Thanks for the tip on the web tracking details. I rang the salesperson back and asked for the details and they didn't even know the facility existed!. However, the sales Rep did investigate this for me and replied very promptly.
If you are ordering a New Prado ask for the Retail Sales Order Number (this becomes your User Code) and the Batch Number is the password.
It appears I got excited too early as the details of my new Prado has a production Build date of 4/2008. Has anyone who has tracked theirs closely know how long from Production Delivery takes?

Ordered 4/4/07
21/5/07 Advice production in June
1/6/07 Scheduled for production
14/6/07 In transit with pick up 4/7/07(dealer)
20/6/07 On land being prepared for transport with pick up 27/6/07 (dealer)
27/6/07 At dealers pick up by me 2/7/07 (hope so but not 100% sure)

Delivery was on 4/7/07.

Well worth the wait though .
